“No matter what, my word is law!” Magdalen exclaimed, her laughter vibrant and unfettered. 

After they left, it was a good while before Antonia managed to pull herself up with the help of a classmate, sinking into the couch. 

Her cheeks were swollen, her eyes and lip corners bruised. Her hair was in disarray, her appearance pitiful. 

Gritting her teeth against the pain, she managed to find her phone, dialing a number. Once the call connected, she burst into tears, her voice slurred, “Dad, come quick, I’ve been beaten up!” 

The person on the other end was taken aback, “Antonia, where are you? Who hit you?” 

“Just come here, okay?!” Antonia sobbed. 

Mr. Cliff was both worried and furious, “Who dared to hit you? They’re asking for trouble!” 

Antonia’s sobs grew louder, but before she could speak, the door was kicked open with a bang.

With ornate iron lanterns, warm yellow lights, and a cool night breeze, they could overlook half of J City’s bustling nightlife. 

Magdalen poured wine for the two of them, her voice low, “Did you refuse to design a dress for Antonia because of me?” 

Estelle’s gaze was calm and gentle, “I simply don’t like her as a person.” 

Magdalen shot her a glance, a smirk playing on her lips, “You can tell me the truth, why be shy about it?” 

Estelle met her gaze head-on, “Doing something for you, isn’t that perfectly normal?” 

Magdalen’s face lit up with a bright, satisfied smile. 

Estelle took a sip of her drink when her phone vibrated on the table. It was a call from Jonathan. 

His voice was gentler than usual, “Where are you?” 

Estelle lowered her gaze, her voice softening instinctively, “Having dinner with Magdalen at the 9th Mansion.” 

Jonathan’s voice was patient and loving, “Eat slowly. Call me when you’re almost done. I’ll come pick you up.” 

“Okay” 

Magdalen waited until they finished their conversation before raising an eyebrow at Estelle, “Does Jonathan know about what happened online?” “He probably doesn’t. He rarely pays attention to those kinds of entertainment news.” Estelle took a sip of her cocktail, I also don’t want him to get involved in this Crawley family mess.
