“What's got you down? It's the first time Mr. Ron has pulled through like this, even letting Chad go, and you're not pleased?" Edwina chimed in, grinning.

"I'm alright!" Emily took a deep breath, reaching out for her phone, contemplating whether to call Charlie to express her gratitude.

Just as she was hesitating, her phone screen lit up with a call from an unfamiliar number.

Caught off guard, Emily slowly picked up the phone, "Hello?"

"Is this Emily?" It was a stranger's voice, sounding slightly anxious.

"Yes, it's me. Who's this?" Emily asked.

“I'm a colleague of Shawn Sullivan. Something's happened to him. He's currently in the hospital. You need to get here ASAP!" The man's voice was filled with urgency.

Emily's face immediately paled, "What happened?"

"I'll send you the address of the hospital. Please hurry! We'll talk then’ the man replied.

“Alright!” Hanging up the phone, Emily suppressed her panic and hastily strode out.

She hailed a taxi to the Mercy Hospital. Her mind was in a daze throughout the ride, a chilling sensation enveloping her from head to toe. Upon arrival, she sprinted towards the emergency room.

Shawn was still in there. Outside were a few senior members of the company and Shawn's colleagues.

"Dad!" Emily rushed over, her voice exuding disquietude, "What happened to my dad?"

The company’s leader, Bard, approached her, “You must be Emily?"

Emily nodded frantically.

The James Group Charlie hung up the phone, his expression grim as he rose to leave.

When walking downstairs, he'd calmed down a bit. He decided to call Estelle, "Estelle, something's happened to Emily's dad. Could you go to the hospital to keep her company? I'm worried she'll be overwhelmed on her own."

Estelle was on set at the time. Magdalen had come to visit and brought a bunch of snacks. They were all chatting together.

Upon receiving Charlie's call, Estelle immediately stood up and said to Magdalen, "Magdalen, there was an accident with Emily. We need to get to the hospital right away!"

"What?" Magdalen's face changed, "What happened to Emily?"

"It's not Emily. It's her dad. We'll discuss it when we get there!"

With that, Estelle swiftly made her way out.
