“Thanks, Charlie. I'll grab the cash and hit the road, won't even waste a minute.” She exclaimed.

After she left, Millard approached Charlie to report.

Without wasting a second, Millard called Jonathan, “Mr. Lamont, Ms. Sullivan's kid has been taken by Mr.James."

A faint smile curved on Jonathan's lips as he said in a casual tone, "Good, call our men back."

"What about Noreen?" Millard asked.

Jonathan paused for a moment before replying, "Let her go."

“Aye, sir."

Charlie drove Kya back to the James residence.

Kya sat in the back, her brow furrowed as she said, "Uncle, I want to find my mom."

Charlie glanced back at her, his handsome face softened into a smile, “Call me dad."

Kya tilted her head, “Is this another game?"

"It's not a game, I'm your dad. From now on, you should call me dad." Charlie's lips curved up, “Are you happy?"

"Mhm." Kya nodded.

“Then say it."

Kya‘s voice was soft and sweet as she called out, "Dad."

A wave of joy washed over Charlie, threatening to spill out from his eyes.

“What do you mean?” Mrs. James asked, surprised.

Charlie handed Kya to Mrs. James, and placed the DNA test result on the table, "Your own granddaughter. Look after her for me. I've got something to attend to. I'll be back soon"

Mrs. James looked shocked.

Charlie leaned down to kiss Kya's cheek, "Sweet girl, play with your grandma for a while, I need to find your mom."

Kya nodded obediently, ‘Dad, make sure to make Mom happy, don't make her mad."

“Will do." Charlie kissed her cheek again before turning to leave.

Mrs. James snapped out of her stupor and took a few steps forward, “Charlie, what's going on? You need to explain."

But Charlie was already out the door, his car speeding away.
