Charlie, holding Kya in his arms, walked towards the door. Mrs. James couldn't bear it and hurriedly caught up, repeatedly admonishing, "You two better not stay out too late, Kya needs to sleep on time!"

“And tell your friends no smoking around her. Secondhand smoke is really bad for kids!"

“It might get chilly tonight."

"Mom!" Charlie cut Mrs. James off, “I'm her father, remember? I'll pay attention to what you said. We are leaving, no need to wait for Kya tonight."

With his daughter in his arms, Charlie got into the car. Mrs. James barely had time to wave goodbye to Kya before the car pulled away.

Mrs. James felt a sudden emptiness in her heart. Turning to Mr. James, who was walking over, she asked, “If we insist, do we have a chance?"

Mr. James sighed, “Hard to say. It seems that if we don't accept Emily, Charlie won't let us see Kya."

Mrs. James was furious, "He's doing this on purpose. He let us stay with Kya for a few days, and when we couldn't bear to be without her, he used Kya to threaten us!"

Mr. James chuckled, "He's truly my son. He's a master at playing with people's emotions."

"Do you think I'm praising him?" Mrs. James shot Mr. James a harsh look and turned to go back inside.

Back at Sunset Ridge, as soon as the door opened, Kya ran to Emily and hugged her legs.

"Mommy!"

Emily bent down to hold Kya, her eyes welling up with tears. She lifted her head and met Charlie's teasing smile, feeling a bit embarrassed. She carried Kya into the living room.

"Mommy, I missed you!” Kya hugged Emily's neck tightly, leaning on her shoulder.

"Charlie, what does this mean? Explain it!"

"Charlie, are you and Emily in a relationship?"

Charlie, hearing the misunderstanding in the words of the others, responded with a hint of pride, "Didn't you catch that? Kya is my daughter, my biological daughter!"

Everyone froze, and for a moment, the room fell completely silent.

Carson turned to look at Jonathan, seated calmly on the couch, “Jonah, what's going on?"

Jonathan nodded, "His biological daughter."

Carson and the others only then realized what was happening, and they started congratulating Charlie.
