Natalia was bustling around when she spotted a couple of friends and headed over to catch up.
Elizabeth inquired, "Has the CEO of Lamont Group shown up yet?"
"Nope," Natalia replied, "heard from Sabina that Mr. Lamont's out on a business trip. Plus, the Lamont patriarch is here, so there's no need for Mr. Lamont to come himself."
Elizabeth, lowering her voice, suggested, "With Mr. Lamont away, remind Sabina to give him a ring now and then, to show we care."
Natalia's eyes flickered with understanding as she murmured back, "Got it."
Estelle and Sophia made their way through the grand hall, ascending the stone steps to the VIP lounge where Old Mr. Jarvis, Mr. Quintin, and the Lamont clan were deep in conversation. The Langstons, as the hosts, were there too, making sure everyone was comfortable.
The elegant and resplendent lounge was attended by six waitstaff, and at the side, a professional barista was brewing coffee.
Upon entering, Geoffrey greeted Estelle with a fond smile, "Playing bridesmaid today, Estelle?"
"Hello, Uncle!" Estelle greeted before turning to Old Mr. Jarvis and Mr. Quintin with a respectful nod, "Grandpa, Mentor!"
Even the usually mischievous Sophia toned it down, adding a polite, "Mr. Jarvis!"
Jason was there too, his eyes deepening as he took in Sophia's bridesmaid dress, which added to her charm. He subtly lowered his gaze and took a discreet sip of his coffee.
"Ah!"
Mr. Jarvis responded warmly to Sophia and turned to Estelle with a mock stern look, "You're a married woman now. Why still call him 'Uncle'?"
Geoffrey quickly came to Estelle's defense, "The wedding hasn't happened yet. Estelle isn't to blame."
Mr. Quintin added from the side, "Exactly, no wedding's been held. Why rush Estelle to change how she addresses you?"
Estelle bit her lip, saying nothing, but her demeanor suggested obedience.
Geoffrey smiled warmly at her, "Estelle can call me whatever she feels comfortable with. In my heart, she's already my daughter. I've been nudging Jonathan about the wedding. If Estelle has no objections, let's aim to have it before the year's out."
"No rush!" Mr. Jarvis chuckled softly, "This girl may look sweet, but she's got a temper. I hope you'll be patient with her."
"I should reflect indeed. I've been too indulgent with her!"
"I find Sophia quite well-behaved. It's you who's unreasonable."
Seeing the two men about to bicker again, Estelle quickly ushered Sophia out of there.
Jason watched their hasty retreat with suppressed laughter, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Once downstairs, Sophia giggled, "Did I catch a hint from Mr. Jarvis that he's urging the Lamonts to hurry up with the wedding?"
Estelle raised an eyebrow, "Really?"
Sophia gave her a sly look, "Mr. Jarvis probably thinks you and Mr. Lamont have been married for a while now, living together without a proper wedding. He's concerned the Lamonts might be taking you for granted!"
Estelle pondered Mr. Jarvis's words and couldn't help but laugh, realizing there was indeed an undertone of urgency in them. "What's the rush, old man?" she thought amusedly.
