Sylvia let out a chuckle, continuing to make her ravioli.

Old Mr. Jarvis, holding his smartphone, walked over to Old Mr. Quintin, "Look, they're making ravioli. You didn't believe me. Come on, Estelle, say hi to your mentor!"
Estelle turned around, smiling, "Mentor, Happy New Year's Eve!"
Old Mr. Quintin's eyes widened, "Estelle, are you back to being Old Mr. Jarvis's grunt? He can't afford a chef now? Making you cook ravioli!"
Estelle laughed, "We agreed, whoever makes them gets to eat them!"
Old Mr. Quintin nodded with a smile, "Alright, if Old Mr. Jarvis doesn't make any, he doesn't get to eat!"
Old Mr. Jarvis boasted to Old Mr. Quintin, "Then you're mistaken, the best few ravioli were made by me. Eating them brings good fortune!"
Old Mr. Quintin scoffed, "What good fortune can a ravioli bring?"
"Our family’s gathering for the New Year, that’s the good fortune!" Old Mr. Jarvis teased him on purpose.
Old Mr. Quintin replied, "My granddaughter and I are also having a reunion."
Old Mr. Jarvis, walking away with his phone, panned the camera to Sylvia standing next to Gabriel. Old Mr. Quintin paused, and after Jarvis had left, he asked, "Old Mr. Jarvis, who's that girl with Gab?"
From just a profile view, Old Mr. Quintin felt as though he saw the shadow of his daughter, Georgia Quintin.
Old Mr. Jarvis, knowing full well Old Mr. Quintin was asking about Sylvia, played coy, "I'm not telling!"
"Spill it, or I'm hanging up!" Old Mr. Quintin was getting anxious, even suggesting Old Mr. Jarvis go back and focus the camera on the girl for a clearer view.
Old Mr. Jarvis walked to the garden pavilion before finally saying, "She's Gab's girlfriend, and she's also close with Estelle. They came over for the New Year."
"Girlfriend?" Old Mr. Quintin was astonished, "Since when did Gab have a girlfriend?"
"What’s so surprising about having a girlfriend?"
"During the New Year, can't you stop sticking it to me!" Old Mr. Jarvis scowled.
Old Mr. Quintin replied, "I'm speaking the truth. If someone could make Gab stay, I'd be grateful to them along with you. But Gab isn't staying, so what's the girl after? Coming over to spend New Year’s with you, don't be so blinded by happiness that you forget everything!"
Old Mr. Jarvis, with a deep tone, said, "I don't know about that, but I do know Sylvia's had it tough, yet she's such a delightful girl. Besides, Gab's no child; he can handle his own affairs."
Old Mr. Quintin didn't say more, just like Old Mr. Jarvis said, it’s the New Year, time to be happy.
He said, "Let the young ones stay up late tonight. Us old bones can't take the strain. Drink less, don’t get carried away."
Old Mr. Jarvis laughed, "Sounds like you're talking about yourself!"
Old Mr. Quintin chuckled, "Old Mr. Jarvis, Happy New Year's Eve!"
"Here's to a good year for us all!" Old Mr. Jarvis replied warmly.
