Charlie chuckled, “Any worries now?”

“Yeah!” Emily tilted her head, “You’re just too perfect, it puts a lot of pressure on me!”

Charlie’s voice softened even more, “Emily, from the moment I fell for you, we’ve been equals. Only someone as outstanding as you could reciprocate these feelings.”

Emily nodded, “I know you’re right, but I still want to do even better.”

Charlie said, “Alright, however you want to be, just go for it. As long as it makes you happy, I’ve got your back, and so does Kya!”

Emily’s eyes crinkled with a smile, revealing her dimples as she playfully pinched Charlie’s cheek, “How are you so amazing?”

Charlie’s eyes shimmered with the night’s embrace as he lifted her for a kiss, “Let’s head to the side room, we don’t want to wake Kya!”

Emily mentioned, “Aren’t we waiting for Josiah to bring the barbecue?”

“I’ll text him we won’t need it!”

Charlie then stood up, carrying Emily towards the side room.

The others feasted on their midnight snack until 2 AM, finally full and content, ready to head to sleep.

The manor was truly peaceful at this hour of the night.

Carson bid the guests farewell and saw Marina still on her phone in the living room. He said, “Let’s go to bed, it’s late!”

Marina put down her phone, joining him as they headed upstairs.

Before going into her room, Marina turned with a genuine smile, “The barbecue tonight was great, thank you!”

Carson’s lips curved into a smile, “What’s there to thank? If my girlfriend wants something, as her boyfriend, it’s my duty to make it happen.”

Marina raised an eyebrow, “Either you’re too into this role, or your acting skills are just top-notch!”

The next morning.

Estelle was playfully woken by Jonathan. She indulged him, planning to snooze a bit longer, but soon lost the urge to sleep.

She frowned slightly, glancing at the time. It was already 8:30 AM.

She reached out to grab Jonathan’s shoulder, her eyes still sleepy, “Shouldn’t we get up early?”

After all, they were the hosts.

“No need!” He leaned in for a kiss, peppering her lips, “Just pretend you’re on vacation. Even sleeping till the afternoon is fine, they won’t be up early either.”

Estelle hummed softly, wrapping her arms around his neck, returning his kisses with her eyes closed.
