Ali didn’t pay attention to Mamie and just looked pleadingly at Estelle.

Estelle stood up and said to Mamie, “Mamie, I’ll serve the guests from room 8801 today.”

Mamie hesitated and whispered, “If Mr. Lamont comes…”

Estelle said, “He is busy today, he won’t be here.” 

Seeing Estelle so sure, Mamie didn’t say anything else and just nodded, “Mr. Scott has a bad temper, be careful!”

Everyone in the room looked at Mamie with complicated expressions, thinking that if she had come five minutes earlier, she wouldn’t have said

that.

Estelle nodded, “Okay, I got it!”

“Go ahead!”

Ali went ahead, made a gesture for Estelle to go first.

Mamie frowned, wondering what had gotten into Ali, who usually had a bad temper, but today he was being so compliant.

Looking back, she saw Susan leaning against the cabinet, looking terrified, and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Ali immediately turned to Estelle and sincerely said, “Thank you, Ms. Macclain!”

Estelle looked helplessly at Manley, “What are you up to now?”

Manley smiled innocently, “Can’t I help you take revenge?”

Clement gave a look to the surrounding people and laughed, “Come on, let’s hang out over there.”

Everyone quickly got up, leaving the space to Manley and Estelle. Some of them secretly peeked, wanting to see what was so special about this woman who caught the attention of both Jonathan and Manley.

This was the first time the two had met since Manley’s birthday party. Estelle spoke calmly, “Thank you for what you did today.”

Manley said with delight, “Have a seat. Don’t be so scared of me the moment we meet. You’re so good at protecting yourself, are you afraid I’ll bully you?”
