Carol felt a chill run down her spine!
Norah laughed, "You like Mr. Hanson, so money's not an issue, right?"
Forcing a smile, Carol replied, "Of course, of course!"
After sitting for just a few minutes, Carol changed back into her sneakers and headed towards the court, calling out, "Larry, Larry, stop playing!"
Larry, having taken a rough beating this time, halted at Carol's shout, "What's wrong?"
Clutching her head and grimacing, Carol said, "I've suddenly got a terrible headache, I want to go home."
"Go home?" Larry glanced towards Norah, reluctant to leave, "Why the sudden headache? The hotel has a clinic, maybe you should see a doctor."
Carol gave Larry a meaningful look, "My stomach hurts too, I feel awful all over, let's just go home."
Xavier chimed in, "If Ms. Cicely isn't feeling well, you should probably head back."
Carol gave Xavier a faint smile, her previous warmth replaced by a noticeable distance.
Left with no choice, Larry bid Xavier farewell and waved at Norah, "Norah, my sister's not feeling well, I've got to take her home. We'll chat on WhatsApp."
Norah waved back, "Bye!"
Larry took Carol and left.
Xavier turned to Norah, "What did you say to her?"
Something was clearly off with Carol.
Norah, hands behind her back and tilting her head with a sly smile, asked, "First, tell me, are you mad or pleased?"
Xavier shot her a glance and smirked, walking towards a bench.
Norah's lips curved into a smile as her eyes sparkled, following him.

As Larry drove away from the hotel, he scoffed, "Don't worry, can't take a girl like that seriously, a few nights is all!"
Carol listlessly gazed out the window, nonchalantly saying, "Then, good luck with that."

Once the Raye siblings had left, Norah felt relieved, grabbing her racket with a smile, "Let's you and me play!"
"Just don't cry when you lose!" Xavier retorted.
"Pfft!" Norah shot back, "I won a tennis championship in school, you know."
Xavier laughed, "I can see that, you're pretty good!"
Buoyed by Xavier's praise, Norah beamed, "You're not too bad yourself!"
After exchanging compliments, they headed to the court, ready to play.
