Sophie reached for her phone, only to remember she had left it in the pocket of her puffer jacket downstairs.
"How embarrassing!" Sophie muttered, her cheeks flushed with a mix of annoyance and shame.
Regardless of her personal squabbles with Jason, at the studio, she was the director, always maintaining an image of grace and dignity in front of the designers, and keeping an appropriate distance from Jason.
But just moments ago, she had almost thrown herself at Jason from behind, spoon-feeding him loquat, and even calling him by his first name...
The more Sophie thought about it, the more irritated she became. She slumped onto the nearby couch, burying her face into a cushion. "I'm so done!"
Jason leisurely finished his bowl of loquats. He wanted to say something to her, but paused, his gaze lingering on her unexpectedly.
Sophie had forgotten she was wearing a skirt, and as she lay sprawled on the couch, her skirt had ridden up, revealing her slender, smooth legs, especially striking against the black velvet of the couch.
Jason cleared his throat and looked away, his voice neutral. "The window's open. If you really can't stand it, you could always jump."
Sophie huffed, "It's the second floor; I wouldn't even die from that fall!"
"I'd take care of you if you got injured, seems like I'm pretty much doing that already!" Jason said, his tone light.
Sophie sat up, clutching a throw pillow. "What do you mean, 'pretty much'?"
"What do you think?" Jason looked at her, his gaze cool. "I've taken care of you when you're sick, bought you your favorite snacks, and you even get your spending money from me!"
Sophie's eyes widened as she realized he was right.
She lifted her chin defiantly. "Since you're already taking care of me, why would I bother getting myself injured? That's just redundant!"
Jason looked at her impassively. "Right now, you work, and I give you money. If you got injured and couldn't work, I'd still give you money."
Sophie suddenly burst into laughter, collapsing back onto the couch, holding her stomach. "Can you stop talking so seriously? It's like we're discussing some sort of support agreement!"
Jason glanced at his wristwatch. "Five minutes left."
"It hurts when I sit too long!" Sophie rubbed the spot gently.
"Lie down on the couch, I'll massage it for you," Jason offered.
"Alright!"
Sophie laid down on the couch, and Jason sat beside her, pressing gently on her back.
Sophie rested her cheek on her hand, turning to smile at Jason. "I feel so useless, getting a sprained back from playing a game, and I'm only in my twenties!"
"It's your own fault for overreaching for shots you couldn't get," Jason chided.
"I didn't want to look bad in front of the kids!" Sophie protested.
Jason was unsympathetic. "Well, you ended up looking even worse!"

Why are the chapters from 61 so horrible to read. We cannot even make out a single line.completely and we cant even lessen the fonts to make it legible. It is such a killjoy....
