Of course, he told himself it wasn’t Estelle he was addicted to, but her body.

After taking a shower, Estelle went back to reading the book in the same position as before, but she seemed a bit distracted, as if daydreaming. Jonathan sat on the edge of the bed, leaned in, and kissed her gently on the face. “What’re you thinking about?” 

Estelle looked up, put the book away, and asked, “What’s Norah been up to lately?”

“She’s been pretty free lately. I went home a few times and she was there. What’s up?” Jonathan leaned in to kiss her, sounding a bit careless.

Estelle said, “I’m off tomorrow and I want to ask Norah to hang out. Wonder if she’s free?”

Jonathan paused and looked at her. “Her boyfriend’s been working, so he doesn’t have as much time to spend with her as before. She will be happy if you ask her out.”

“Alright, I’ll give her a call tomorrow morning.”

Estelle whispered and put her arms around the man’s shoulders…

In the middle of the night, Estelle woke up to find herself being held by him. As soon as she moved, he tightened his embrace.

Estelle rested her forehead on his chest and listened to his strong heartbeat, suddenly feeling wide awake.

Since when did Jonathan start staying in her bed after making love? It seems like it started happening after their return from C City. They’d sleep in the same bed, cuddling, whether it’s on the side or the main bed.

Some things have subtly become habits.

“Yes,” Jonathan replied casually and naturally, “There’s no password.”

“What do you mean?” Estelle chuckled, “Didn’t we agree…”

“Babe!” Jonathan interrupted her, “Think of it as a thank you for getting the earrings from Old Mr. Jarvis. The value it brought far exceeds that

card.”

Holding the card, Estelle pursed her lips, “Alright then, I’ll let you get back to work.”

“Be safe when you go out,” Jonathan reminded her.

“I know!” She’s not a kid, after all!
