Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2648

His palm tightened as his lips moved to her ear. "I'm starting to think Jonas had the right idea," he whispered, his voice dangerously low.

The warm breath on the sensitive skin of her ear sent a jolt of electricity through her. Half of her body went numb, and she stood perfectly still, unable to move.

"Oh?" The single word came out as a trembling whisper. She was trying desperately to keep her voice steady, but it was impossible to tell if she was trying to keep from being heard or trying to control the wild, frantic beating of her heart.

"Kiss her until she agrees."

His voice was a low, magnetic rumble, each word a hammer blow against her heart. And then, his lips were on her again.

His senses were filled with the light, elegant fragrance of her skin. It felt as if they were sealed off from the rest of the world, the sound of the rain and the couple outside fading into a distant murmur.

In that moment, she was all he could see.

Jenny and Jonas were lost in their newfound passion, their kisses growing more intense with no sign of stopping. And here, Gabriel’s lips traced a slow, torturous path along her jaw.

Sylvia squeezed her eyes shut, her hands clenched into fists. Her heart hammered against her ribs, threatening to leap out of her chest and into the body of the man pressed so tightly against her, never to be hers again.

Just as his lips finally reached the corner of hers, poised to claim them, Sylvia suddenly reached up, grabbed the front of his shirt, and wrenched her head to the side.

Gabriel froze, his breathing heavy, his body taut with restraint.

Fortunately, Jonas and Jenny were finally coming up for air. "Weren't you here to meet Sylvia?" Jenny asked, her voice sweet and breathless. "Where is she?"

Jonas, still catching his breath, glanced around. "She told me to meet her here."

Jenny pulled out her phone. "I'll give her a call."

"Don't," Jonas said, catching her hand. He grinned. "Sylvia is always so polite and reserved with us. Don't you think it's a little strange that she specifically asked me to bring her flowers today?"

"To tell her that Jenny found herself an exceptionally amazing boyfriend," he said with a goofy laugh.

"You're so full of yourself," she scoffed, but her voice was filled with a joy that came straight from her heart.

As they headed downstairs, Sylvia pushed Gabriel away and let out a long, shaky breath.

Gabriel stepped back, acting as if nothing had happened, his expression once again cool and detached. "You haven't even figured out your own life, and you're already meddling in other people's."

A faint smile touched Sylvia’s lips. "They were already in love," she said softly. "It would have been a real shame if they missed their chance just because they were afraid to say the words."

Gabriel's eyes, dark and inscrutable, lingered on her for a few seconds before he turned and walked away.

Sylvia waited a moment, then straightened up, smoothed her hair and her dress, and calmly walked out of the narrow space.
