Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2746

At the estate.

Jonathan leaned back lazily in his chair, watching as Charlie, Carson, and the others continued their drinking contest.

Millard approached and leaned in, whispering, “Mr. Lamont, dawn is in three hours. You should get some rest.”

Jonathan had had a fair bit to drink, making his long eyes appear even darker and deeper. His voice was husky from the alcohol. “Tomorrow, don’t forget to have someone keep an eye on Lambert… and Manley.”

Millard hesitated for a moment before deciding to report truthfully. “Manley arrived in C City today. He’s at the Jarvis family estate right now.”

Jonathan’s head snapped around, a sharp glint in his eyes. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

Millard remained silent, thinking, *If I had told you, would you still be sitting here?*

Jonathan set down his glass and stood up, heading for the door.

Millard quickly followed. “Mr. Lamont, please calm down. You can’t go to the Jarvis estate now. It’s against tradition.”

“Don’t talk to me about tradition,” the man’s low voice drifted through the night air, the simple words laced with a chilling coldness.

The thought that he couldn’t see Ella while Manley was right there with her made him unable to wait another second. Sleep? Tradition? He didn't care.

“Mr. Lamont…” Millard frowned, ready to call Jonathan’s parents or even Estelle herself. Someone had to stop this man who was being driven mad by jealousy.

Suddenly, Jonathan’s phone vibrated with a new message.

He opened it, and his steps immediately halted.

Ella: [My dearest Mr. Lamont, happy birthday! I’m waiting for you. Remember to come get me after you’ve had some sleep!]

All his anxiety, irritation, and restlessness were soothed by that single message, like moonlight settling on a still lake, where even the ripples were gentle.

His fingers, which had been pressing firmly on the screen, unconsciously softened as he slowly typed.

[Why aren’t you asleep yet?]

Estelle replied quickly, [You’re not asleep either, are you?]

Upon returning to the room, Jonathan looked at Charlie and the others and gave a simple order. “Get them all back to their rooms to sleep. I don’t want them messing up my pickup of Ella tomorrow.”

Millard lowered his gaze. “Right away.”

Meanwhile, after sending the message, Estelle returned to her room, which was bathed in the red glow of the lanterns outside.

She grabbed her pajamas and went to take a shower. When she came out, she found Magdalen sitting up in bed, wrapped in a blanket, her tired eyes fixed on her. “Who were you talking to for so long?”

Estelle climbed into bed. “Manley.”

“I figured it was him,” Magdalen said, lying down and turning to face Estelle. “If Jonathan finds out, the celebratory wine at the banquet tomorrow will probably be replaced with straight vinegar.”

She then added, “And there’ll be a bodyguard standing next to each guest, ready to force-feed anyone who refuses to drink it.”

Estelle burst out laughing at the image Magdalen painted. “So, would you drink it?”
