Estelle served tea to Geoffrey and Catherine in turn.
“Dad, please have some tea.”
Geoffrey, beaming with a smile, replied, “Alright,” and accepted the cup with both hands, drinking it all.
Estelle then offered a cup to Catherine. “Mom, please have some tea.”
“Yes, of course.”
Catherine, dressed in a deep red gown with her hair elegantly styled, wore the jewelry Estelle had personally designed. She looked both kind and regal.
After finishing the tea, Catherine took a large red envelope from the side and handed it to Estelle with both hands, smiling gently.
“Your father and I thought long and hard about what to give you. Since your wedding is being held at this manor, we decided to give it to you as a welcoming gift. From now on, this place will be a symbol of your and Jonathan’s happiness.”
Estelle smiled and accepted it with both hands, thanking her.
Next, Estelle and Jonathan served tea to Alcott Lamont and Janice.
Janice had also prepared a generous gift for Estelle. Her dignified face was softened by a warm expression. “I’ve watched the two of you on your journey to this day. I won’t say much more, except that we are all truly delighted to welcome Estelle into the Lamont family as one of our own.”
“Thank you.”
Geoffrey smiled. “Alright, Estelle must be tired. Jonathan, take her upstairs to rest for a bit.”
Jonathan agreed, once again lifting Estelle into his arms and carrying her upstairs.
The groomsmen and bridesmaids, including Norah, Henson, Amiee, and Josiah, all followed them in a lively crowd.
Estelle spoke with a smile. “Jonah was just looking out for you. Didn’t you see? Millard was nearly passed out from drinking, and Charlie and Mr. Foster could barely handle it. You were the only one who had it easy.”
Josiah’s expression cleared. “Thinking of it that way does make me feel a little better.”
Charlie glanced at the time and said with a faint smile, “The ceremony starts in half an hour. Jonathan needs to get ready. We’ll be going now. We’ll leave the bride in the capable hands of our lovely bridesmaids.”
He was also eager to go see his daughter, who was serving as a flower girl today.
Emily nodded. “We’ll stay with Estelle.”
Jonathan walked over to Estelle and knelt before her, taking her hands in his. His eyes were deep and intense.
“See you in a bit.”
