Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2804

Harriet ran into a few acquaintances and, after downing five or six glasses of wine in quick succession, felt a bit dizzy. She found a quiet spot to get some fresh air.

A figure approached and handed her a glass of chilled juice. "You've had a busy day, Ms. Harriet," a calm voice said. "Playing the part of a bridesmaid and entertaining clients."

Harriet accepted the juice with a faint smile. "It's hardly entertaining clients. They're good friends, and it's our boss's wedding, so everyone's happy. A few drinks are inevitable."

"Please accept my apologies for anything that happened today," Chuck said.

Harriet's lips curved into a smile as she slowly shook her head. "There's no need. Under the circumstances, Chuck was a perfect gentleman."

"Is this your first time as a best man?"

"Is this your first time as a bridesmaid?"

They spoke at the same time, paused for a moment, and then looked at each other and smiled.

Harriet answered first. "Yes, it is."

Chuck leaned against the railing, his hands clasped. "It's my first time, too. I'm not very experienced."

"You were so composed," Harriet complimented him.

"You were quite impressive yourself," Chuck replied with a faint smile. Despite all the teasing from the crowd, Harriet had remained perfectly poised and graceful.

Harriet chuckled lightly. "When you work for our boss, this is a small affair."

Chuck's gaze was calm and steady. "Our president isn't so bad. At worst, he'll call me last minute to cover for him, and then disappear for a month."

Harriet looked at him and couldn't help but laugh, quickly turning away.

"Found a kindred spirit, have we?" Chuck asked.

Their eyes met, and they both shared a low laugh.

Each bridesmaid wore a dress of the same color but a different style, and their hairstyles varied. Based on her attire, it had to be Sallie Macclain.

Under the shifting, colorful lights, Xavier looked into the girl's eyes and said flatly, "I'm sorry, I don't dance."

"If you don't know how, I can teach you!" the girl said, grabbing his wrist without taking no for an answer and pulling him toward the crowd on the dance floor.

Xavier glanced around nervously and whispered, "Norah Lamont, what are you up to now?"

Norah turned and gave him a playful smile. "You figured it out? Impressive!"

Xavier's expression darkened slightly. "Stop fooling around."

Norah stopped, took his hand in hers, and placed her other hand on his shoulder, her eyes shining as she looked up at him. "You were just afraid my mom would recognize you, right? Well, now she definitely won't!"

"How can you be so sure?"
