Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2836

Sylvia lowered her eyes to her soup. “I think it's unlikely,” she said softly. “How could there be such a coincidence?”

They had been friends for so many years, and now he was suggesting they were mother and daughter?

No matter how she thought about it, it felt too dramatic.

“Are you afraid of changing your current life?” the man asked suddenly.

Sylvia froze, her gaze meeting his deep, unreadable eyes. Her long lashes fluttered as she stood up and took her bowl to the sink.

“I'll get it,” the man said, stopping her.

Sylvia replied, “Wash your own.”

Gabriel frowned slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips as he took his bowl and joined her in the kitchen.

After they finished the dishes, Gabriel opened the fridge and handed Sylvia a yogurt.

Sylvia sipped her yogurt as she walked out. When she turned and saw him following her into the living room, she frowned. “Dinner’s over. Is there something else, Mr. Carnes?”

Gabriel took a long drink of water, his moist lips parting slightly. “Kicking me out?”

He took two steps closer, his eyes fixed on her, his voice low and magnetic. “If you’re Georgia’s daughter, then you’re Nana.”

Sylvia's heart skipped a beat. “So what if I’m Nana?” she whispered.

“It means I’ll be very happy,” Gabriel said, raising a hand to her face. “I’ll be very happy that I met you back then.”

His fingertips were cool against her skin, and her heart began to race. Her beautiful eyes darted about as she tried to decipher the meaning behind his words.

“I’m not staying tonight,” he said.

Everyone knew he had brought her here. With the possibility of her being Georgia’s daughter hanging in the air, he couldn't risk starting any gossip before things were made public.
