Dylan Donovan had clearly gone a few rounds with the men. Sporting a fresh bruise on his face, he stood defensively in front of his parents, arguing heatedly with the thugs trying to force them to sign the demolition papers.
Xavier Flemmings walked in. Under the stunned gazes of the crowd, he picked up the agreement, ripped it to shreds without a second thought, and demanded coldly, "The Donovans aren't moving. Now get the hell out of here!"
The leader of the group shot to his feet. "Who the hell are you? Do you call the shots around here?"
Xavier nodded. "That's right. I call the shots for the Donovan family now."
Norah Lamont stepped up, her voice sharp. "Do you have legal demolition permits? If not, what you're doing right now is trespassing and damaging private property. It's highly illegal, and we will press charges!"
The leader glared at Norah with pure malice. "Press charges? Go ahead, you stupid little bitch—"
He didn't get to finish his sentence. A predatory glare from Xavier swept over him, and he subconsciously snapped his mouth shut. Humiliated by his own fear, the man flew into a rage and signaled to the goons behind him.
A vicious-looking man, clearly a hired muscle, lunged forward to teach Xavier a lesson. Xavier effortlessly caught the man's swinging arm, raised his leg, and kicked him square in the chest, sending him flying across the room.
"Ah!" Leila Fields and the Donovans gasped, shrinking back in shock.
Dylan tried to rush forward to back Xavier up in the fight, but Xavier stopped him. "Stay out of this!"
Xavier's aura was icy and lethal. His movements were lightning-fast and utterly ruthless. In a matter of seconds, he had every single one of the thugs pinned to the ground.
"You... you just wait!"
Realizing they had messed with the wrong guy, the leader didn't dare push his luck. He spat out a weak threat and scrambled away with his men.
Dylan watched them drive off and let out a massive sigh of relief. "Thank God you showed up, Xavier!"
Leila shot Xavier a fearful glance before scurrying over with a first-aid kit to tend to Dylan's wounds.
Mrs. Donovan wiped away her tears. "Maybe we should just pack up and move!"
"No way," Dylan snapped angrily. "Good always wins. Why should we bow down to scum like them?"
Dylan volunteered eagerly, "I'll go catch it!"
Seeing their enthusiasm, Xavier decided not to argue.
Mrs. Donovan pulled Xavier to sit down beside her. "Xavier, tell me more about my son. Skip the classified stuff, just tell me what you're allowed to share."
Xavier nodded softly. "Of course."
Norah stood up gracefully. "You guys chat. The scenery over there looks gorgeous, I'm going to take a walk."
"Don't wander too far," Xavier warned, his protective instinct flaring.
"I know!"
Norah offered a bright smile, leaving them to their quiet conversation while she wandered off to explore the mountain views.

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
