Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3155

Gonzalez smiled. "How should I thank you?"

Norah gave a carefree laugh. "No need to be so polite. We're practically family."

Her casual joke made Gonzalez's expression instantly stiffen.

To Norah, after spending the whole afternoon together, their dynamic felt much more relaxed, which was why she felt comfortable teasing him.

But Gonzalez felt completely different.

*She sees me as family...*

Norah texted her driver and started packing up her things. "I need to head home. See you next week!"

"Does your family know you came out to see me?" Gonzalez asked suddenly.

Norah shook her head. "No."

She honestly didn't know why, but when her grandmother had asked earlier, her first instinct had been to hide the fact that she was meeting him.

Gonzalez's eyes darkened, his raspy voice dropping to a magnetic, restrained register. "Then let's keep it a secret for now."

"Why?" Norah asked, before flashing a playful grin. "Wait, are you embarrassed that your tutor is so much younger than you?"

Gonzalez immediately played along. "A little."

Norah patted her chest loyally. "Got it. Your secret is safe with me!"

Gonzalez held her gaze, his eyes bottomless. "Don't worry. I won't hurt you again."

Norah blinked, totally confused by the unexpected intensity of his words. Before she could ask what he meant, her phone rang. Her driver had arrived.

Gonzalez stood up, lifted her back into her wheelchair, and pushed her out to the entrance.

The Lamont family driver stepped out, respectfully taking over the wheelchair to help Norah into the car.

Mrs. Lucas had only intended to flatter him by calling him handsome, but in her desperation, she had completely forgotten that Hannah was merely his stepmother. She froze, the air instantly turning incredibly awkward.

Hannah looked a bit flustered but quickly covered it up. "Gonzalez, this is Mrs. Lucas. She came specifically to ask for your help."

Gonzalez originally had zero intention of engaging, but upon hearing that last name, his footsteps stopped. A dark, dangerous glint entered his eyes as he asked coolly, "What is it?"

Relieved that he actually sounded willing to listen, Hannah quickly ushered them. "Let's sit down and talk."

The three of them gathered around the living room sofas. Gonzalez's massive, imposing frame and sharp, predatory features naturally radiated a suffocating pressure.

Hannah poured Mrs. Lucas a cup of tea and smiled. "Mrs. Lucas, Gonzalez has a very good relationship with Jonathan Lamont and his wife. Why don't you explain the situation to him directly?"

Mrs. Lucas looked at Gonzalez like he was her final lifeline. "Mr. Hanson, my son is Julian Lucas. He's the one who hit the Lamont family's daughter."

In a fraction of a second, Gonzalez's eyes turned to ice. He rubbed his fingertips together, saying absolutely nothing.
