Standing on the sidelines, Lorelei listened intently to their exchange. Her gaze drifted over to Gonzalez, a predatory gleam flashing in her eyes.
*A national champion, huh?*
*Interesting.*
On the other side of the river, Gonzalez gently set Norah down and strode back across the bridge to retrieve her wheelchair.
Sara was heavily into fitness, so crossing the swaying bridge was child's play for her. She gripped the ropes and navigated it with ease, Adrian following closely behind.
Lorelei and Whitney, however, despite bragging about being veterans of this mountain, put on an agonizingly long performance. They shrieked, froze in place, spun around in circles claiming they were too terrified to move, and then miraculously found the courage to whip out their phones for selfies.
Nearly ten minutes dragged by, and the two women were still stalled in the middle of the bridge, playfully shoving each other and screaming for attention.
Gonzalez's patience officially ran out. He instructed Sara to keep an eye on Norah and disappeared up the trail to scout the route.
Seeing that her damsel-in-distress act wasn't going to bait Gonzalez into carrying her, Lorelei suddenly found the whole charade incredibly boring. She moved much faster across the second half of the bridge.
Stepping onto solid ground, Lorelei immediately whined to Adrian. "Hey handsome, I was so scared I thought I was going to die! Why didn't you come out and save me?"
Adrian gave her a sarcastic, half-smile. "I'm clearly not the guy you were hoping would come to your rescue. I wouldn't dare flatter myself by cutting in line."
Lorelei laughed awkwardly. "I would've been grateful to anyone who gave me a hand!"
"Sure thing," Adrian replied dismissively. "Maybe next time."
Sara and Norah exchanged a look, both simultaneously pretending to shudder in disgust.
Minutes later, Gonzalez returned holding a topographical map. "I scouted ahead," he announced smoothly. "There's a really steep incline up the trail. Norah won't be able to climb it. We'll split into two groups. You guys hike, and Norah and I will take the gondola to the summit. We'll rendezvous here."
He pointed a long finger at a spot on the map labeled *Cloudview Skywalk*. "I've already checked her wheelchair into storage at the station. We can leave now."

The readers' comments on the novel: Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)
Janice and Adrian don't want Norah to be with Xavier....
Thank you for the updates. You do keep us in suspense....
Curious as to how, what, when and where Norah will get her memory back of Xavier....
I'm so glad that Gonzalez was able to get Luke, Oliver and all others who wanted to challenge himas the CEO straight. Interesting how Xavier made reference to a girlfriend concerning his gift to Norah, but never did this before her accident. I'm grateful for the updates. Thank you...
I had a lot of catching up to do..oh buoy, what twist and turns. Loved every bit of it, thank you for keep updating the novel. Hoping for more love along the way....
May we please have updates. Thank you...
Someone needs to send a new picture of Trevor to Oliver and Luke so that they will get their requested reports to Gonzalez asap. If they didn't know, now they know what awaits them if they continue to disrespect and NOT follow orders....
Well, well, well. I love how Gonzalez sent out the warning that he's the CEO and either they will acknowledge him as such or get their due diligence. I'm waiting to see how the Franco family will be walking on eggs and come into a new understanding of Gonzalez taking charge. Thank you so much for the five updates....
Adrian is hoping that he has a chance with Norah and will do everything and anything in his power to keep Norah and Xavier apart....
Thank you for the updates. I hope that Norah will remember Xavier and their relationship before the accident and that they will ever be to....
