Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3241

Khloe didn't know Gonzalez and was curious about the intense standoff. She turned to Sara. "What's going on? Who is that guy?"

"He's Norah's... family friend. Not by blood," Sara explained, doing her best to summarize the complicated dynamic.

"So he and Adrian have some kind of beef?" Khloe asked, still confused.

Sara sighed. "It's a long story."

And if her instincts were right, a very messy one.

Out on the balcony, Norah frowned at Adrian. "What is your problem? Why are you always so hostile toward Gonzalez? Did he do something to you?"

Adrian scoffed, his temper flaring. "Didn't you see the way he looked at me? The hostility is mutual!"

"I saw you provoking him first!" Norah shot back.

"Oh, sure!" Adrian let out a bitter laugh, turning away to mutter to himself. "No matter what happens, you always take his side. You always protect him."

Norah tilted her head, arching an eyebrow. "What was that? Speak up!"

Adrian spun back around, leaning heavily against the railing. "Then explain it to me. Why is he suddenly your neighbor?"

Norah hesitated. "It's... just a coincidence!"

"A coincidence. Do you honestly believe that?" Adrian didn't pull any punches.

Norah's eyes widened. "What are you implying?"

"Norah—" Adrian groaned in frustration, feeling like he was talking to a brick wall. But seeing the clear, innocent look in her eyes, he swallowed the rest of his words. There were some things he couldn't just spell out yet.

Norah's frown deepened. "You don't seriously think I moved out and purposefully chose an apartment next to Gonzalez because I have some ulterior motive, do you? Where is your head at? He's a senior family friend!"

Adrian stared at her, dumbfounded. Yeah, who exactly had an ulterior motive here?

Norah let out a dry laugh. "What is going on in that brain of yours? Can you not be so incredibly cynical?"
