Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3265

The realization washed over the group like a breath of fresh air.

Everyone began chiming in, eagerly welcoming Norah and thanking Adrian for gifting them such a fantastic manager. The previously tense atmosphere evaporated, replaced by genuine cheer.

They downed their drinks together and took their seats.

Jenny gripped her wine glass so tightly her knuckles turned white. Jealousy coiled in her stomach like a venomous snake as she glared at Norah, who was effortlessly soaking up the room's admiration.

Sara discreetly shot Adrian a thumbs-up. "Nice save," she whispered with a smirk.

Adrian glanced at Norah, his voice dropping into a soft, protective murmur. "Defending Norah is my job."

"Cheers to that." Sara raised her glass to him.

They clinked glasses, and Adrian downed the rest of his drink.

Across the table, Jenny shot a pointed look at Zane, her eyes flicking toward the alcohol.

Catching the hint, Zane stood up with a pleasant smile. "Norah, let me offer a toast as well. Here's to a great working relationship!"

Adrian knew Norah had already downed two glasses back-to-back. Even though he had specifically ordered low-alcohol wine for the table, drinking it that fast would still hit her hard.

He reached out and intercepted Norah's hand. He looked at Zane. "I'll take this one for her."

Adjusting his rimless glasses, Zane offered a polite, teasing smile. "I'd let you intercept anyone else's toast, Adrian, but I'm technically her upperclassman. We're going to be working closely together. It's a bit rude to block my toast, don't you think?"

Norah smiled smoothly. "Zane makes a fair point. I'll drink this one. Please look out for me in the office!"

Zane's face lit up with a victorious grin. He turned to Adrian. "Look at her. She's way more open-minded than you are!"

But with Adrian acting as an impenetrable shield, no one dared pressure Norah to drink again. Having downed three glasses early on, she was feeling a slight buzz, but eating some food helped settle her head.

As the dinner wound down to an end, Jenny stood up with a glass of red wine, supposedly to toast Adrian. As she passed behind Norah's chair, she conveniently lost her balance. Her arm violently tipped forward, aiming the dark liquid straight at Norah's back.

Sara's reflexes were lightning fast. She yanked Norah toward her by the arm, causing the vast majority of the red wine to crash onto the floor.

Still, a few stray drops splattered against Norah's crisp white blouse, blooming into stark red stains.

Fortunately, it was only a minor splash and didn't completely ruin her outfit.

Putting on a flawless display of horror, Jenny immediately grabbed a handful of napkins and lunged forward to wipe the fabric. "Oh my god, I am so sorry, Norah! I had too much to drink and got dizzy. My heel caught on the carpet!"

Sara aggressively swatted her hands away, her tone dripping with absolute disgust. "I used to think you were just a bitch, but it turns out you're actually pathetic."
