Just as they were finishing up, Gonzalez suddenly asked, "Have you ever thought about changing jobs?"
Norah looked up, surprised. "No. I like what I'm doing now."
His brow furrowed slightly. "If Adrian ever gives you a hard time, you have to tell me."
She laughed, completely unbothered. "Don't worry. Anyone else might give me trouble, but he never would."
Gonzalez was at a loss for words. A knot of frustration tightened in his chest, but as the memory of last night flashed through his mind, his jealousy softened into a wave of deep affection.
After breakfast, they left for work. Since it was on his way, Gonzalez drove her to the office. The short trip took only a few minutes. Watching her walk into the corporate building, knowing she'd be spending the entire day with Adrian, he fought the urge to drag her right back to his car.
If he hadn't shown up last night, what would have happened?
Proximity gave Adrian an unfair advantage, but what valid excuse could Gonzalez possibly use to make Norah quit?
Later, at the Hanson corporation's morning meeting, everyone could tell the boss was in a remarkably good mood.
Trevor Cromwell had assumed Gonzalez would make his life miserable today after the stunt he pulled the night before. But seeing the man's calm, unbothered expression, Trevor couldn't read him at all.
And the less he could read him, the more terrified he became.

The moment Norah arrived at the office, Adrian called her into his workspace.
As soon as she walked in, she found him staring intently at her, his expression stormier than ever.
"What happened to your face?" she asked, startled.
Adrian looked like he was chewing on glass. After a long pause, he muttered darkly, "I walked into a door."
Norah burst out laughing. "You're a grown man! How do you walk into a door?"
His expression darkened further. "Is it funny?"
Still struggling to suppress her amusement, she leaned in to inspect the bruise. "Did you get into a fight?"
But Adrian's eyes were fixed on her mouth. Her lips were naturally a soft pink, making the dark, bruised redness completely undeniable. It was glaringly obvious how that mark had gotten there.
A toxic mix of jealousy and fury boiled over inside him. Through gritted teeth, he hissed, "You're unbelievable, Norah."

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
These updates were too funny. Thank you so much for the updates....
I forgot to add Amy to the group of pregnant women, since she was the first. Emily and Sylvia better be careful since pregnancy is in the air....
