Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3295

"Oh, one more thing," the manager added. "Manager Decker has been transferred to a remote branch office. Effective immediately, you are taking over as the lead executive for this entire division."

A spike of genuine surprise hit Sara. She had a gut feeling that Ian Decker's sudden demotion was direct fallout from his cowardice last night.

What had started as an absolute disaster had miraculously flipped in her favor, eliminating both the sleazy client and her toxic boss in one clean sweep.

And she knew exactly who had orchestrated the entire turnaround. It was all Adrian.

Masking her internal thoughts, Sara offered her manager a deeply grateful, professional smile, thanking him for the promotion.

Since Adrian had a busy schedule, he wrapped up the meeting with a few pleasantries and took his leave.

The moment Sara stepped back into her newly acquired office, she immediately dialed Adrian's private number. "You went totally above and beyond for me. I don't even know how to thank you."

A low chuckle came through the receiver. "Don't sweat it. Think of it as compensation for the massive headache I caused with your friend this morning."

Honestly, she knew that wasn't true. He had literally saved her life last night, and the Khloe situation was far more about Khloe's deep-rooted jealousy than anything Adrian actually did.

But some things didn't need to be spoken aloud. The silent understanding was enough.

She let out a soft laugh. "I owe you big time. Literally ask me for anything—aside from helping you steal Norah back—and I'm your girl."

"I thought you said money was the only thing that mattered to you. A massive corporate contract isn't enough to buy your loyalty?" he teased playfully.

"Consider it the very last shred of my conscience," she joked.

Adrian laughed out loud at that. "Get back to work, Boss."

"Catch you later, Adrian." Sara ended the call, a warm smile finally breaking through the heavy tension of the morning. The icy betrayal she had felt just hours prior was slowly starting to thaw.

Some people just had a natural ability to bring light into a dark room.

Once the styling was done and she slipped into her stilettos, Norah finally stepped out of the room. Adrian was already waiting in the lounge. The moment his eyes landed on her, he went completely still. Pure, unadulterated awe washed over him, robbing him of his ability to speak.

Catching the intensely romantic vibe, the stylist offered a knowing smile and quickly slipped out of the room to give them privacy.

Adrian's gaze slowly swept over her, completely entranced. "When I picked out this dress, I knew you'd look stunning in it. But seeing it on you... you're breathtaking."

Norah, her natural beauty highlighted by delicate makeup, offered a bright, enchanting smile. "It's getting late. We should probably head out."

Adrian stepped forward, instinctually reaching out to take her hand. But as he stood right in front of her, overwhelmed by her pure, untouchable elegance, a sudden wave of hesitation hit him. He pulled his hand back, suddenly terrified of crossing a line.

It was as if she were a priceless work of art; even the slightest touch felt like a violation of her perfection.

In that brief, agonizing second of hesitation, Norah had already gracefully walked past him toward the exit.

Shaking off his trance, Adrian hurried after her.
