Norah's eyes flew wide open.
"So this time, you don't get to say no," he declared.
Before she could process the words, his mouth crashed down on hers.
Her entire body stiffened as she was instantly engulfed by his familiar, heavy musky scent. He expertly parted her lips, his hand sliding around her slender waist to pull her flush against him, while his other hand braced against the door. He kissed her with a consuming, fiery desperation.
All of his famous self-control completely shattered the moment he tasted her.
Norah was forced to take the kiss. Her hands flew up to push against his shoulders. Her first instinct was pure outrage—how dare he force himself on her? But then reality crashed in: she couldn't make a sound. She couldn't alert the two people outside. If they were caught, his situation at the company would only get worse.
He was dominant, yet devastatingly tender. The raw, desperate emotion pouring into the kiss melted away her resolve to fight back.
She didn't know how long it lasted—a minute, maybe two. Finally, he pulled back, resting his forehead against hers, both of them breathing heavily. "Norah, you look so beautiful today," he rasped.
Her mind was spinning. Her heart was hammering violently against her ribs.
"I mean it," he emphasized, his voice thick with desire.
He had been watching her the second she walked into the banquet hall. Seeing her looking so radiant next to Adrian had driven him insane with jealousy. He had lost his mind and dragged her away the first chance he got.
Norah felt a chaotic mix of anger, embarrassment, and panic. The tight, dark space, the overpowering presence of the man holding her, and the disturbing sounds coming from the room outside fried her brain completely.
He pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Norah," he asked, a desperate hope clinging to his words. "Do you remember anything?"
If he had to recreate everything she had ever done to him just to jog her memory, he would do it in a heartbeat.
Norah stared at him, her lips slightly parted in dazed confusion. "Remember what?"
Gonzalez closed his eyes, swallowing the bitter wave of disappointment. "Nothing," he murmured. "So, about what I asked earlier. Have you made a decision? Can we be friends?"
Norah bit her lip, glaring up at him with misty, indignant eyes. She wanted to scream at him.

There's a song currently playing via YouTube and TikToc by LowDii "Touch Me Softly" that makes me think of Norah and Xavier (Gonzalez). Please, I'm looking forward to updates. Thank you for your writing....

As the plot thicken. Adrian is done for and he can't try to control Norah, so he'd probably tattle to Janice who's gone for two weeks. Thank you soooo much for the updates....
