He crossed the street and headed toward the dessert shop. Norah stayed rooted to the spot, watching his retreating figure.

About five or six minutes later, he reappeared, crossing the crosswalk along with a crowd of pedestrians.

Tall, broad-shouldered, and strikingly handsome, he carried a rugged, untamed edge. Even amidst the bustling crowd, he was an undeniable standout, effortlessly drawing eyes toward him.

On that busy, noisy street, he emerged from the sea of people, dessert in hand, walking straight toward her.

The scene felt overwhelmingly familiar.

For a split second, Norah felt a wave of dizziness.

Reaching her, Gonzalez didn't hand the taro roll over right away. "Wait until we're at the restaurant to eat this."
