Carson turned his head, his predatory gaze locking onto Marina's retreating figure. He narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Excuse me for a moment," he told the woman. "Enjoy your drink."
He stood up and sauntered effortlessly toward Marina's booth.
As he got closer, he could hear her friends giving her a hard time. "Are you kidding me? You couldn't even get a fake number?"
"Marina, chickening out is so unlike you!"
Marina laughed awkwardly. "Can I just take the penalty? Tell me how many shots, I won't negotiate!"
Carson stepped up to the booth and slid right into the seat next to Marina, casually snatching the fresh drink out of her hand. Under the dim, sultry club lighting, his striking features looked even more devastatingly handsome. "The beautiful lady wanted my number?"
The alcohol buzzing in Marina's system suddenly hit hard. She stared at his face, completely dumbfounded.
Summer and Trixie were equally paralyzed. They stared at the gorgeous man, practically drooling. He had looked incredible from a distance, but up close, his sheer magnetism was overwhelming.
Especially his eyes—dark, deep, and perfectly shaped. Just one look felt like being pulled into a dangerous undertow.
Carson didn't wait for permission. He smoothly plucked Marina's phone from her hand and typed in his digits, his voice a low, smooth baritone. "My private number. It's on twenty-four seven. You can find me anytime."
Summer let out a breathless gasp before clamping a hand over her mouth. Realizing she was staring, she quickly turned to Trixie and started rambling about something random to break the tension.
As Carson handed the phone back, he leaned in, his lips brushing dangerously close to Marina's ear. "Why did you run when you saw me?" he murmured.
Marina bit her lip. He was right—why did she run? If anyone should feel guilty about getting caught at a club, it shouldn't be her!
Carson leaned back, his eyes dancing with amusement as he looked at the other two women. "Playing Truth or Dare? Count me in."
Summer instantly tensed up. She hadn't actually expected to wrangle a guy this hot to play with them. They loved to talk a big game, but when confronted with actual male perfection, they clammed up like awkward teenagers.
Marina glared at Carson, dropping her voice. "Your girlfriend is still waiting for you. It's completely inappropriate for you to be over here playing games with us."
