Marina's face drained of color, her voice sharp with panic. "Carson Foster!"
She initially thought Carson was just trying to scare her. It wasn't until his hand slid up her skirt that she realized he was completely serious.
She struggled with all her might, but her frame was far too petite compared to his. The fists raining down on him felt more like flirting, only serving to thicken the heavy sexual tension between them.
The usually refined and gentle man was now wild and untamed, and the situation was rapidly spiraling out of control.
In the chaos, Marina tilted her head back and bit down hard on his shoulder, sinking her teeth in with everything she had.
Carson finally stopped. He turned his head to look at her but didn't pull away. He didn't even furrow his brow. Instead, his gaze turned somber as he stared at her, his breathing heavy and ragged.
Marina's eyes were rimmed red. She slowly released her bite, watching the blood bloom across the fabric of his shirt as she gasped for air.
After a moment of silence, Carson helped adjust her clothes and pushed himself off of her.
Clutching her collar, Marina scrambled up and bolted back to her own bedroom in a blind panic.
Carson sat on the floor and unbuttoned his shirt. Seeing the two rows of deep teeth marks seeping blood, he let out a scoffing laugh. He couldn't believe she actually went through with it.

Back in her bedroom, Marina slammed the door shut and slid down against it, her entire body weak and trembling.
Her heart pounded wildly in her chest—a chaotic mix of anger and lingering fear.
The sensation instantly brought her back to the time Carson first found out about Freddy. He had taught Freddy a lesson on the court and then forcefully kissed her in front of everyone.
Amidst the cheering crowd, only she knew it was a kiss meant to punish her.
She had known right then and there that this man was dangerous to provoke.
That exact same feeling rushed back today, overwhelmingly intense.
"Nothing happened." Erin sighed. "A colleague at my company slept with her boyfriend the very day they made things official. It honestly makes me wonder if I'm just too conservative."
"Shouldn't that kind of thing happen naturally when the feelings are mutual?" Marina replied.
"My colleague said you have to test drive it to know if the relationship is worth continuing. That way, you don't waste each other's time," Erin said.
Marina frowned, unsure of how to judge the situation. She could only conclude that everyone had different standards for intimacy.
Erin leaned in closer, a mischievous glint in her eyes, and whispered, "So, are you and your Mr. Foster compatible in that department?"
Marina rolled her eyes. "Didn't I tell you? We have an arrangement. There are no feelings involved."
"No feelings? You've been together this long and haven't hooked up once?" Erin looked astonished. "You can control yourself, but Mr. Foster can keep it in his pants too?"
Marina froze for a second before saying softly, "He doesn't need to control himself. There are plenty of women out there lining up to get into his bed."
