Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3649

Carson took a sip of his tea. His striking lips curled into a cold, mocking smirk. "Do you really think I'm that pathetic?"

Charlie chuckled, turning to Jonathan. "Care to make a bet? He's definitely going to end up standing out there in the cold to apologize."

Jonathan leaned lazily against the sofa. "What are the stakes?"

"If you lose, your daughter has to call me Godfather," Charlie said. "If you win, my second kid will call you Godfather!"

Jonathan raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you're even having a second kid? Where is this hypothetical child?"

Charlie's smile didn't waver. "It'll definitely happen before your second one!"

Carson chimed in, irritated. "This bet has absolutely nothing to do with me. Don't use me as your excuse."

Jonathan smirked. "Charlie is absolutely certain you're going to fold and stand in the cold!"

The sarcasm in Carson's eyes deepened. "Never going to happen."

Jonathan nodded slowly. "Then hold your ground. If you hold out until the end, I win."

Charlie, however, smiled like a sly fox, looking entirely too confident.

None of the three men were drinking, and since Gonzalez was driving Norah home later, he passed on the alcohol as well. The group of men essentially turned 9th Mansion into a high-end teahouse.

After a few cups of tea, Charlie looked over at Carson. "Stop being so stubborn. Just go apologize to her. There's no shame in a man stepping up and admitting he was wrong!"

Carson traced the rim of his teacup with his thumb, his voice low.

"This isn't something an apology can fix."
