Marina asked what was wrong, but Rhiannon hesitated to say, only urging her to come back as soon as possible.

Marina frowned and explained the situation to Estelle and Magdalen. She felt bad about leaving early, knowing they had set up this gathering to bring her and Carson together.

Estelle checked the time. "We're about to head home anyway. Go take care of your business, we'll get together next time!"

Marina said goodbye and grabbed her bag.

Just as she opened the door, Carson, who had gone out for a smoke, was walking back in. Their eyes met, and they simultaneously looked away. Marina stepped aside slightly, brushing past him.

Carson's gaze darkened before he stepped into the private room.

He sat down on the sofa. Jonathan raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you see she left? Aren't you going to chase after her?"

Carson didn't move, aimlessly spinning a lighter in his hand. "There's nothing left to say."

Charlie reached over, snatched the lighter from him, and scolded mildly, "Hurry up and go! You didn't drink tonight just so you could drive her home. Stop acting so prideful!"

Jonathan chuckled. "We're all friends here. No one's going to laugh at you."

"Exactly," Charlie joked. "We've all been there. Who's in a position to judge?"

Carson smirked and finally stood up. "I'll take off then. The bill is settled. Thanks for tonight, guys."

"Save the empty pleasantries, she's probably almost home by now!" Charlie teased.

Carson's lips twitched as he turned and strode out.

Magdalen watched Carson's slightly rushed departure and raised an eyebrow at Estelle. "There's still hope!"

Estelle's eyes were clear. "Neither of them has let go, of course there is."

While Marina was waiting at the entrance for the valet to bring her car, another car pulled up in front of her.

The window rolled down, and Marina looked at the man's profile in surprise.
