Carson returned to his villa and sat on the living room sofa. He opened a drawer intending to grab a cigarette, but his eyes caught the stack of photos sitting inside.

After showing them to Marina that day, he had tossed them in there and hadn't touched them since.

He pulled them out again. The first photo was of Sean and Marina hugging. The lighting was dim; you could only see Sean's back, and Marina's head was tilted up slightly, seemingly smiling.

His eyes turned cold. He was just about to throw the photos back when his gaze locked onto something.

He picked the photo up for a closer look, then pulled out the others to compare. Soon, he realized the background of the photos was the Midnight Bar.

Judging from the angle, they weren't taken secretly—meaning someone else had been there.

Carson reviewed the timeline in his head, his heart giving a violent lurch. He immediately pulled out his phone and called Summer. It was late, and Summer sounded groggy and half-asleep. "Mr. Foster?"

Carson asked, "Summer, about ten days ago, did you and your classmates have a get-together at Midnight Bar?"

Summer took a moment to process. "Yeah, we did."

Carson frowned. "Do you remember the exact date?"

Summer seemed to check her phone. "It was the fifth!"

Carson's mind buzzed loudly. The fifth... that was the day he went on his business trip. Right before he left J City, he had been at the Midnight Bar. Which meant Marina had been there at the same time.

He suddenly remembered his Truth or Dare game with Giselle. His heart raced faster. He hung up on Summer and immediately called the floor manager at Midnight Bar.

It rang three times with no answer. Unable to wait, Carson pocketed his phone, stood up, and strode out.

He drove to the Midnight Bar. On the way, the manager returned his call. He said sternly, "Pull up the security footage outside room 7705 from the night of the fifth. I'm on my way."

The manager didn't know what had happened but quickly agreed.

Throughout the drive, Carson's mind was in absolute chaos. He couldn't figure out if Marina wanted to break up because of Sean, or because she had seen him and Giselle.
