Chapter 433
Yvonne looked up, choked with emotion, “Jonathan, my parents are getting a divorce!”
Jonathan was taken aback.
Tears rolled down Yvonne’s cheeks, and she felt even more helpless, “Jonathan, what should I do if they really divorce? Why did things turn out like this?”
Jonathan handed her a tissue, “We can’t judge right or wrong when it comes to our parents‘ issues. No matter the final decision, it’s something they’ve thought through.”
Yvonne shook her head, “No, my mom’s always been simple–minded. All she does every day is play cards with friends and buy luxury items. She doesn’t have any of her own thoughts, and she’s nowhere near mature enough for a 50–year–old woman.”
She sobbed uncontrollably, “It’s all my uncle’s doing! He’s the one who pushed her into all this! She’s doing all this for me!”
“As long as your mom doesn’t genuinely want a divorce, I think there might still be a solution,” Jonathan advised.
“But my dad’s hell–bent on divorce!” Yvonne cried out, then suddenly hugged Jonathan, “I’m so scared, Jonathan! I’m afraid if they do get divorced, I won’t have a complete family anymore!”
“Jonathan, I really want to go back to when we were kids, living carefree lives. Even if there were problems, you guys could help me sort it out. But now, I don’t know who can help me!”
She cried loudly in his arms. As Jonathan thought about the girl who used to follow him everywhere when they were young, he couldn’t bring himself to push her away, so he patted her on the shoulder to comfort her, “Your dad might still be upset. Once he comes around, he’ll forgive your mom!”
“Really? Will he really forgive my mom? My dad’s still thinking about my brother, and he’s pinning my brother’s disappearance on my mom as well!” Yvonne cried even harder, clinging to him even tighter.
As Jonathan was about to say something, he looked up and his gaze froze.
He wasn’t sure when Estelle had come over. She was lifting the curtain and about to walk towards them when she saw the two of them hugging, looking utterly shocked.
Jonathan casually said this and then hurriedly left.
“Jonathan!” Yvonne cried out hastily, looking at him with pitiful eyes, “Can you stay with me for a while?”
Jonathan replied calmly, “Yvonne, we’re not kids anymore. In the end, we have to solve our own problems!”
Yvonne stared at Jonathan in shock.
But he didn’t say anything else and just turned to go back to the private room.
When he returned to the poker table, he first checked Estelle’s face. She was looking down at her cards, betraying no emotion.
Seeing her like this, he felt even more uneasy but said nothing.
