Chapter 480 

Emily, who was taking a bath inside, heard someone trying to push the door open. She quickly put on her clothes and asked coldly, “Who is it?” 

The person outside didn’t say anything, just kept pushing the door. When he couldn’t get it open, he even started ramming it. 

The chair that was propped against the door was pushed back a little, and the water on it splashed out. 

Emily immediately ran over to hold the door and asked, “Who is it?” 

The person outside paused and said, “Emily, are you in there? I thought the door was broken again! My underwear is hanging on the rack. Did you see it? Help me 

get it!” 

Emily was both angry and scared, “Leave first, and I’ll be out in a while!” 

“I need to wear them now, just let me in!” 

John said it with a smirk, continuing to push the door forcefully. 

Emily yelled, “If you don’t leave, I’ll call the police!” 

John didn’t believe that Emily would have her phone with her while taking a bath and Just continued to push the door without saying anything. 

As the door was being hit hard, Emily tried to keep calm and look for something to use for self–defense. 

Since Mathilda was definitely gone, John dared to be so blatant. She could only rely on herself! 

Her phone was on the sink counter. If she went to fetch it, she would have to leave the door, and John would surely break in. Just as she was about to shout, her phone suddenly rang on the sink. 

Someone was calling her! 

The ringing was very conspicuous in the silent bathroom.

John never expected that Emily really had her phone with her, so he immediately left. 

Emily took a deep breath and didn’t move for quite some time. Hearing John walk away, she pushed the chair back to prop the door, then quickly ran to the sink and picked up her phone. 

The caller was Carson. 

She gratefully answered the call, her voice trembling, “Carson!” 

Carson detected something was off in her voice and asked, “Emily, what’s wrong?”

Emily’s face turned pale, the water droplets from her hair rolling down, her wet clothes sticking to her body. She clutched her phone tightly, unconsciously glancing at the bathroom door before saying after a while, “Nothing!” 

Carson laughed, “Your place is really hard to find. I’ve been searching for half an hour.” 

Emily was taken aback, “Where are you?” 

“Downstairs at your building!” 

Emily: “I’ll be right down!” 

As she hung up the phone and moved the chair away, she grabbed her clothes and rushed back to her room. 

After locking her door, she went to the window to look down, and sure enough, Carson’s car was parked downstairs. 

She dried her hair, changed into a new set of clothes, and walked out. 

John wasn’t in the living room, so Emily breathed a sigh of relief and quickly left. 

As soon as Carson saw Emily coming out, he got out of the car, looking at her with a frown and joking, “You just took a bath and ran out with your hair still wet?” 

“It’s fine!” Emily shook her head, confused, “What are you doing here?” 

“I just had to take care of some things around here, so I thought I’d come and see you!”
