Chapter 71
The woman named Vivi instantly shouted, “Fiona, isn’t that the earring you just said you couldn’t find?”
Fiona came over angrily and grabbed a glass of wine to splash onto Estelle, “You despicable thief!”
Estelle reacted quickly, grabbing Fiona’s wrist and flicking it back, making the wine splash onto Fiona instead. However, some wine still spilled, splashing onto her white T–shirt, spreading like drops of blood.
Fiona had wine all over her face, her eyes wide open with a shocked expression, letting out a loud scream.
That scream was as if she had been stabbed!
Everyone was drawn by her screaming, and the banquet hall went quiet. The men who were chatting and drinking turned their heads to stare in this direction.
Mr. Waldo immediately walked over and exclaimed, “Fiona, what happened?”
Fiona ran to her father, sobbing and hugging him pitifully, “Father, she stole my earring, and she splashed wine on me!”
Mr. Waldo’s expression darkened, glanced at Estelle, and said, “That’s impossible. This young lady is a guest of Mr. Scott. How could she do such a dirty thing?”
Fiona continued to cry, “Naomi saw it with her own eyes.”
Naomi, who was standing aside, looked more frightened than Estelle, who was accused of being a thief, trembling and saying, “Yes, I saw the earring fall out of her pocket.”
The other women joined in, convicting Estelle without evidence.
Estelle didn’t say a work, just looked at Jonathan who was coming over and softly called out, “Uncle!”
Everyone followed her gaze and saw Jonathan. As soon as they saw him, everyone closed their mouths, and the whole hall went silent.
Jonathan smiled, walked steadily to her side, and asked with deep eyes as if he had just found out she was there, “What are you doing here?”
Estelle replied sweetly, “I ran into Manley, and he brought me here.”
Jonathan looked down at her wine–stained clothes and frowned, “How did this happen?”
His most important guest tonight was Jonathan, and the main purpose of his party was to participate in a project recently developed by the Lamont Group, but he never expected his own daughter to mess with his niece.
Jonathan then looked at Naomi, “You saw it with your own eyes?”
Naomi was terrified, not daring to nod or shake her head.
Jonathan took out his phone and made a call, “Find Ming Yin, check the surveillance in the hall, and see who stole the earring
“Yes” Millard immediately responded
Mr Waldo humedly said. “Mr. Lamont, no need to check it. It’s a misunderstanding. It’s definitely not your niece who stole the earring”
Jonathan said indifferently, “Let’s check it to clear things up”
At this moment, Manley came over from somewhere, seemingly smiling and asking “What happened?”
Mr. Waldo quickly pulled Manley aside and whispered, ‘Mr Scott, you screwed me over badly, why didn’t you say that Ms Macclains is Mr. Lamont’s niece?”
