On her way home, stuck in a traffic jam, Estelle shot Jonathan a message
By the time she got to the Royal Mansion, it was pitch dark. She said her goodbyes to Jason and slowly trudged upstairs.
The moment she opened the door, she noticed the lights in the dining room and kitchen were on. She took off her coat and walked further in, only to see a figure bustling about in the kitchen
Jonathan was decked out in a light grey sweater and beige pants. He was tall, broad–shouldered and slim–waisted, even his silhouette was enough to make your heart flutter
He was cooking up a storm, and when he heard her, he turned around, grinning, “Where’ve you been all day?”
Estelle walked over and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind, “Paid a visit to an old–timer.”
Jonathan arched an eyebrow, “Got relatives in J City, do you?”
“Yep.” Estelle replied, taking a deep breath, “Smells amazing”
Jonathan scooped up a spoonful of soup, blew on it, and brought it to her lips. “New recipe. How’s it taste?”
Estelle declined again.
Seeing her steadfast in her decision, the president finally gave up and hung up
Year’s end meant a slew of reunions, with everyone getting together after ages.
In the afternoon, Estelle got a surprise text from Isis, “Estelle, have you heard about your high school reunion?”
Estelle replied, “Yeah, got a call from the class president But I declined.”
Isis texted back with a laughing emoji, “Oh really?”
Estelle was confused, “What’s up?”
“Just wait,” Isis replied, “I’ll send you some chat screenshots.”
