Carmella’s palm was sweating as she held her phone, “Grandpa, I just graduated, and I don’t want to date yet.”

Terrence went silent for a moment, his voice tumed gloomy. “Carmella, business hasn’t been good for these two years, and the Macclain family is not as good as before. There’s going to be a big project opening up in J City soon, and Gentry’s uncle is in charge of it. If our families get along, we might have a chance to get

involved.”

He was solemn, “Carmella, the Macclain family has raised you for more than twenty years, and we can’t let it go to waste. I know you’ve always been sensible, and I am sure you’ll know what to do.”

Carmella’s voice tightened, “Grandpa, I’ve always been aware of the Macclain family’s kindness, and I will certainly pay you back in the future.”

Terrence chuckled softly, “No need to wait for the future, you have the chance now.”

He continued with a meaningful tone, “Technically, Estelle should be the real daughter of the Macclain family, and your parents‘ property should be hers. But if you obey, Grandpa will also love you”

Carmella’s head buzzed, and after a while, she asked, “Where do we meet?”

“Six o’clock tonight, Serenity Heights. Make sure to behave well.”

After hanging up the phone for a long time, Carmella was still in a daze, with only one thought in her head – the Macclain family was going to sell her!

It took a few sniffs for Carmella to say through her crying. Today, Grandpa called me and asked me to date Gentry because he needs Gentry’s uncle’s help in bidding. You must have heard of Gentry”

Carmella cried even harder. “He’s divorced, and he physically abused his wife. If I marry into the Franco family, I won’t survive. I’ve just graduated from college and have so many dreams I don’t want to get married, let alone marrying into the Franco family!”

“Yes, I’ll be there”

Estelle hung up the phone, her eyes filled with coldness

In the evening, close to six o’clock, the Macclain family driver took Carmella to Serenity Heights.

Carmella told the driver to park across the street, but she didn’t get out of the car, instead staring at the entrance of the restaurant

At exactly six oclock, she saw Estelle getting out of a taxi and heading inside

She stared at Estelle’s back and slowly started to smile.
