Mr. Tucker was worried about there might be a rift between Estelle Macclain and Gwen, so he was playing peacemaker with Gwen, while also enlisting an assistant director to sweet–talk Estelle. He hoped Estelle wouldn’t mix personal grievances with work, and that she could work well with Gwen

The assistant director was in his thirties, unmarried. He sought out Estelle a few times, and after several encounters, he fell for her

He lowered his voice, “How about we meet somewhere tonight? I’ll explain the script to you, see what role suits you. I’m a man of my word, I can arrange it for you

Estelle glanced at the undisguised greed on the assistant director’s face and sneered, “Are you planning to arrange for me a scene where I’m harassed by the crew and then they get beaten up?”

The assistant director’s face turned pale instantly. Estelle didn’t even look at him as she turned and walked away

Ana shook her head in grievance, “I don’t know. Gwen was supposed to wear this dress for this scene. It was fine when we checked it yesterday. When I took it out of the box just now, the diamonds and pearls fell all over the floor.”

The dress was a custom–made piece by GK Jewelry studio for Gwen’s big scene. The entire skirt was adorned with diamonds of varying sizes, and the sleeves were embellished with precious pearls. Now, most of the pearls and diamonds had fallen off, essentially ruining the dress.

Without a dress, they couldn’t continue shooting. Gwen and Clarice were waiting under a nearby umbrella. The two had become quite friendly on set recently, sai they spent time together even when they weren’t shooting.

While Estelle was inspecting the dress, Clarice, wearing oversized sunglasses, said, “It’s a bit fishy how the dress got damaged, isn’t it?”
