Chapter 135
Grayson’s grand entrance was a resounding slap in the face–a blatant display of dominance–to the Miller brothers and Emily.
My wolf thrilled at the humiliation of those who had wronged me.
After I left their clutches, I hadn’t fallen apart; I’d thrived, creating a life far more spectacular than anything they could ever imagine. The scent of my success and freedom was intoxicating.
Seeing me with a bright smile and eyes full of joy, Emily’s jealousy burned, a palpable wave of resentment washing over her. She gritted her teeth, itching to storm over and tear that annoyingly happy face apart!
Her wolf growled, frustrated and helpless.
But on the surface, she played the part of someone concerned for me.
“I’m really worried about Isabella. Mr. Smith and our family have always been at odds. She resents you for giving your love to me. Maybe if Mr. Smith treats her a little better, she’ll feel like she’s found family and…”
Her voice dripped with false concern.
“Why do you care what she does?” Alexander sneered, a cold smile curling his thin lips. His wolf’s arrogance was sickening. “Isabella is so stupid; she’s being used by Grayson and still pleased with it. She’s being used and doesn’t even realize it!”
This is exactly what Emily wanted to hear; she curled her lips in satisfaction.
Her wolf barked with triumphant glee.
Jared’s anger flared up even more; his fists clenched tight, veins bulging. His eyes blazed, his wolf ready to spring forward and confront us. But Alexander quickly grabbed his arm, his Alpha presence instantly calming Jared’s wolf.
Jared, calm down. It’s Emily’s competition; do you want to miss it?”
Alexander’s scent held a note of command.
Jared paused, suppressing his anger.
He glared at Grayson and me, his wolf still restless.
“She’s completely smitten with Grayson,” Jared snorted.“We don’t need someone like that.” His wolf echoed his disdain.
Alexander smirked cunningly. He whispered, “Don’t worry; the real show’s still coming. With her here, it just makes Emily shine brighter.”
His wolf purred with anticipation.
Seeing Alexander so confident, Jared, sensing a plan brewing, his wolf calming, knew there was a plan and his anger simmered down.
‘Fine, let her enjoy it for a while.”
Emily linked arms with them, speaking softly. “Jared, Alexander, you’re so kind. Let’s go; the competition is about to start. But Alexander, what are you planning? Is this fair to Isabella?*
Her wolf was still seething.
Alexander looked at Emily with affection, his Alpha scent reassuring her. He patted her shoulder. Don’t worry. I’m just giving her a little lesson, making her a stepping stone for you. Today, you’ll shine like never before! Let’s go, the competition’s starting.” His wolf

was already anticipating the victory.
Emily looked at her sun dial.
“It’s late; I need to get to the contestant den and prepare! Let’s go!”

She pulled Jared and Alexander along, pretending there was no time to stop Alexander from scheming against me, rushing into the
venue.
Soon, the competition began. Contestants took the stage one by one to present their designs.
I looked at the stage. Even though I was forced to learn design because of Emily and the Miller brothers, I started to love this industry as I dug deeper.
I dreamed of standing on the international stage, showcasing my vision to the world, the scent of success filling my senses.
But the Miller brothers had tried to steal my dream. Now, free from them, I could reclaim everything that belonged to me! My wolf felt a surge of determination.
Suddenly, I felt warmth on my palm. I looked up to see Grayson’s breathtakingly handsome face close by, his scent a reassuring comfort.
“Isabella, don’t be nervous.” His wolf’s confidence was infectious.
