Chapter 16
He probably remembered the few times my pack share had been reduced for minor infractions, which only fueled his anger.
“Even if you were penalized a few moon cycles‘ worth of shares for your mistakes, the family used to give you so much; you must have savings! It’s just a few moon cycles without shares; how can you hold such a grudge?”
His anger intensified.
“You’re such an ungrateful wretch! Just for a few sunstones, you’re making such a fuss and dragging Grayson into it! You want sunstones, right? I’ll transfer some now! Ten thousand sunstones, enough? That’s all I give Emily every moon cycle!” His wolf sneered, his dominance unquestioned within his own pack.
He thought he was being fair, believing I wouldn’t protest further.
His condescending tone pierced my heart.
Even the careless Jared knew their favoritism toward Emily hurt me, yet they persisted! Now, offering me the same resources as Emily felt like a condescending act of charity!
My wolf whimpered, wounded by his words.
“No need,” I said.
I’d rather go hungry than accept their sunstones again.
Besides, once I left the Miller pack, I wouldn’t need their handouts! My wolf’s pride demanded independence.
“Come on, just take the sunstones. You’ve been making a scene for so long, isn’t it all about the sunstones?” Jared pulled out his bone tablet to initiate the transfer.
However, his hand was stopped by Grayson’s, a wave of immense pressure pushing down on him.
Jared winced, his brow furrowed, silently resisting; sweat beaded on his forehead.
His wolf whimpered under the intense pressure.
Finally, he gave way, groaning in pain, his body tilting, dwarfed by Grayson’s superior strength.
Grayson’s wolf exuded effortless dominance.
“My sister’s pack share doesn’t need you, an outsider, to provide.” Grayson held Jared with one hand while using the other to transfer
resources.
His wolf’s confidence was undeniable.
Then I received a notification for five hundred thousand sunstones in my account.
Jared’s face darkened; he glared at Grayson, as if trying to tear him apart with his eyes.
But he knew he wasn’t a match for Grayson’s power.
His wolf was subdued, humiliated.
He could only reluctantly drop a harsh remark to me:“Isabella! You’re really something! If you don’t apologize, never even think of returning to the longhouse!” His wolf snarled its final threat.
