Chapter 3
Pushing through the throng, I saw Jared, his Alpha rage unleashed, pummeling a he–wolf.
The victim, bruised and bleeding, fought back, his voice echoing.
“That she–wolf who called you?
We were intimate for a time in the Northwood Territory!
You can kill me, but it’s the truth! I have proof!”
He produced a data–stone, its glow flickering weakly.
Jared’s wolf erupted.
His veins bulged, his fur bristling.
He lunged for the data–stone just as Emily arrived, her voice a desperate cry.
“Jared!”
The injured he–wolf’s eyes gleamed.
“It’s her! She’s… she’s far from innocent!”
Emily blanched, her wolf shrinking in terror.
I watched, a silent observer, as my brothers enveloped Emily, their protective instincts overriding all else.
If it’d been me in her place, would they even lift a finger?
“Fear not, Emily. This defiler will face the Pack Council.
Consider it a nightmare. No such filth will ever touch you again,” Caleb swiped her tears away with a rough thumb, his voice a low growl that sent a shiver down my spine.
Emily clung to them, tears streaming.
“You… you don’t despise me?” Her wolf, bruised and vulnerable, sought solace in their unwavering support.
