My brother, Caleb, burst into the Miller family’s territory, his fur bristling with cold fury.

The air crackled with tension.

A group of enforcement wolves stood rigidly by the entrance, their expressions grim. The Miller family’s alpha, looking harried, blocked the entrance, attempting to mediate. When he saw Caleb, his tense posture visibly

relaxed.

“Big Brother,” he greeted.

The enforcement wolves, who’d been facing away, turned at the sound of Caleb’s voice.

Caleb strode toward them, stopping just short of their line.

“State your business,” he demanded, his voice low and dangerous.

The lead enforcement wolf, unfazed, calmly presented a scroll.

“Alpha Miller, we are acting under the authority of the Pack Council. This is an arrest warrant. Ms. Emily Carter is suspected of two offenses: aggravated assault, forging medical scrolls, and fraudulent conspiracy. The evidence is compelling. Please cooperate with the investigation.”

Caleb’s eyes scanned the scroll, his gaze hardening. Even with the warrant, he stood firm, barring the passage to the upper levels of the territory.

“My sister is unwell,” he stated, his voice hard, brooking no argument. “She has just returned from the healing circle. She cannot withstand the shock. I will secure legal representation. You may leave now.”

The enforcement wolves remained resolute.

“We are here to apprehend Ms. Carter, not to conduct an inquiry. Cooperate! Do not obstruct justice!”

They warned him, then attempted to force their way

inside.

“No!” Caleb roared.“Even if you are apprehending her, you must await her legal representative!” He braced himself, attempting to stop them again.

But the enforcement wolves were quicker. One easily deflected his attempt, and another was already moving to push past him. Caleb’s eyes narrowed, about to retaliate, when suddenly, chaos erupted outside.

A pack of news–hounds, carrying enchanted recording crystals and comm–stones, had somehow appeared at the border. Their crystals were trained on the open entrance, the magical lights flashing.

“I heard the enforcement division is here to apprehend Emily Carter!” one howled.

“Wasn’t she involved in an attempted assassination at the Moonpetal Gathering the other day? They can’t simply ignore this!”
