Chapter395.
I locked down a deal with Serena, signed her to the new media company, and backed her to run her own social media channels. My wolf approved of this move — a strategic counter–play to Emily’s potential comeback. When I decided to do something, I went all in. Though I wasn’t sure if Emily would continue her influencer career, I still built the media company meticulously. Using memories from my past life, I scouted out a few promising talents and signed them up.
Fate, despite the deviations, still pushed Emily towards her desire for a comeback. My wolf anticipated her next move.
The resources donated to the academy couldn’t be traced back to Andrew, or to the Miller Clan. After the White&Beauty Cosmetics incident, Mason had asked her to sell her jewelry to cover the losses. Emily claimed the jewelry was a gift from her brothers, and she refused. Now, however, she sold those very pieces of jewelry, donating one million to the academy to keep her enrollment intact. She also invested in Professor Burke’s studio, ensuring she remained his student. Her wolf desperately clung to any opportunity to remain in the academy. Professor Burke looked at the check representing the million–resource donation, then at the pale–faced Emily. The resources were real. But the trouble this she–wolf brought was also real. He nodded, his tone devoid of warmth. His wolf sensed her desperation, her manipulative
tactics.
“Since you’re showing remorse, I can give you another chance,” he said, snatching the check and tucking it away. But then he laid down the law:“You’re my student in name only. I won’t make things hard for you, but from now on, no more design contests, no more publishing your work.” No negotiation, just a cold shutdown of her design career. He was cutting off all her paths in the design field, preventing her from using others‘ work and damaging her reputation.
His wolf felt a sense of satisfaction, finally putting an end to Emily’s deceitful behavior.
Emily’s claws dug into her palm, pain masking the humiliation that washed over her! But she couldn’t leave quietly; she couldn’t lose to me!
Her wolf snarled, its pride deeply wounded.
She took a deep breath, swallowing her bitterness toward me and Professor Burke, forcing a sweet, obedient smile.“Okay, Professor. From now on, I will…”
Professor Burke impatiently waved her off.“If I find you in breach of this agreement, I will expel you. Now go.”
“Goodbye, Professor.” To maintain appearances, she swallowed her bitterness. But she would make me pay! Her wolf vowed revenge.
Returning to the Miller Clan home, Emily immediately contacted Alexander. It was noon in Washington, but it was 4 AM where Alexander was. Regardless, Emily contacted him repeatedly until she woke him. His wolf stirred, annoyed by the intrusion. He glanced at the time, his anger flaring. He was about to get angry, but seeing the name on his communicator, he calmed down and answered.
“What is it? Emily?” Alexander’s voice was groggy, heavy with sleepiness.
Emily showed no remorse for waking him, softly sobbing, “Alexander…” Her wolf’s desperation pierced through the distance, reaching Alexander’s own wolf.
Her trembling voice reached Alexander; his sleepiness vanished, sitting up abruptly. His wolf sensed his sister’s distress, its protective instincts kicking in.
“What happened? Emily, tell me, I will handle it!”
Emily broke down crying, stammering, “Alexander… I can’t stay at the academy anymore… I don’t blame Isabella, but everyone’s against me… even the professor wants to expel me.” She said she didn’t blame me, but the more she said it, the more Alexander thought I was the one bullying her. His wolf’s suspicions were aroused, fueling his anger towards me.
The moment she finished, Alexander exploded, “Isabella gone too far!” Then he softened, “Don’t cry, Emily. I’m here. Tell me what’s going on.” Emily piled on the sob story, blaming me without naming me, then added, “It’s not Isabella’s fault, Alexander. You’re misunderstanding her.” Alexander’s wolf was easily swayed by her feigned innocence. Alexander’s convinced I’m pulling the strings.
“Alexander, I’m just so upset, I don’t know what to do, so I contacted you. If I don’t say it, I…” She sobbed again.
“Emily, don’t cry, this is simple.” He paused, and a sound of resources shifting played on Emily’s communicator. A transfer notification appeared, showing a large sum of resources. Emily felt better; the three million she’d spent were recovered, and she even made a small profit. Her wolf’s anxiety lessened, temporarily replaced by relief.
Alexander’s voice came again, dripping with contempt, “Silencing those wolves is simple. You don’t understand Pack dynamics; those greedy wolves will shut up for resources. Whoever pays more, they side with.”
Emily feigned disbelief, “We’re classmates; how could they do that?”
“Emily, you’re too naive, that’s why you’re bullied. Tomorrow, do this…”
The next day, a notice appeared on the academy bulletin board. Emily had donated a significant sum to the academy, establishing the “Emily’s Scholarship Fund” to support needy design students.
Her wolf hoped this act of generosity would restore her reputation.

This caused some discussion.
“Is Emily trying to rehabilitate her image?”
“Resources can’t buy respect, ha.”
Emily wanted to rehabilitate her image, but the students weren’t buying it. Alexander was on top of it, using paid commenters to control the academy forum, quickly taming the backlash.
“But it’s a good thing for us poor students.”
“We won’t have to worry about resources and living expenses.”
“Thank you, Miss Carter.”
Emily felt a little better, adding comments.
“Just apply, the scholarship’s easy to get.” She hoped this would help her reputation, silence the criticism. She assumed students would apply eagerly for free resources.
However, after several days, few students applied. This differed greatly from her expectation of grateful, enthusiastic students. She then saw students laughing at her on online forums.
Her wolf’s hope crumbled, replaced by a bitter realization of her failure.
