Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 222

“It’s an old problem. That’s how it is when you get older. But the doctor said she needs to be monitored.”

Elliot looked at Grace, hesitating.

“Hey, Grace, if you have some time…”

“Ahem!”

A series of coughs cut Elliot off.

Damien held a fist to his lips, coughing so violently it seemed like he was about to hack up a lung.

He even swayed a little, letting most of his weight lean against Grace.

“Damien, what’s wrong?”

Grace was startled and quickly steadied him.

He had been fine just a moment ago. Why was he suddenly coughing so hard?

Damien leaned on her shoulder, weakly touching his head. “I’m dizzy. My wound hurts.”

“Maybe I caught a chill from the wind. I think I have a fever.”

As he spoke, he very naturally grabbed Grace’s hand and pressed it against his forehead.

“Grace, feel this. Isn’t it hot?”

Grace was speechless.

Hot, my ass.

His temperature was perfectly normal.

Even someone as dense as Elliot could see what was happening now.

This powerful heir was staking his claim.

And his methods were incredibly childish.

“Mr. Clarke, since you’re not feeling well, you should probably go upstairs and rest,” Elliot said. Though his heart ached, he had to maintain his composure.

“Yes, we should,” Damien said, straightening up. Though he was still leaning on Grace, that air of commanding superiority instantly returned.

He reached out, his fingers slowly tucking a loose strand of hair behind Grace’s ear.

Then, as if he had just noticed Elliot, he gave him a dismissive glance.

“Mr. Ashcombe, what an unfortunate coincidence.”

“Normally, I would invite you for a drink, seeing as you’re Grace’s… old classmate.”

“However, we’re returning to Jarrow City.”

Damien turned to Felix, who had been standing by like a ghost.

“Felix.”

“Mr. Clarke.” Felix immediately stepped forward, bowing his head respectfully.

“Notify the flight crew. File a flight plan for tomorrow morning,” Damien said in a lazy tone. “Have the private jet brought over. I don’t want Grace to be uncomfortable during the journey.”

“Also, bring that set of medical equipment we flew in from Valeria. Once we’re back in Jarrow City, I want to arrange for comprehensive physical therapy for Grace’s leg.”

She turned and shot Damien a glare.

“Damien, can you be any more childish?”

But Damien looked completely unbothered, even a little smug.

He took Grace’s hand and brought it to his lips for a kiss.

“I just don’t want him looking at you.”

“You’re mine. No one else is allowed to even think about you.”

Grace was torn between anger and amusement.

But a small corner of her heart warmed at his domineering, unreasonable possessiveness.

In the past, he had never bothered to acknowledge her as Mrs. Clarke in front of others.

Now, he seemed to want to broadcast it to the world with a megaphone.

“Alright, stop acting.”

Grace poked him in the chest.

“Let’s get you upstairs. If that wound really opens up, you’ll end up needing an amputation.”

Damien caught her hand, his eyes filled with adoration.

“At your service, my lady.”
