Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 407

Grace's smile was desolate.

"He didn't dislike me; he hated me. He hated that I had the blood of the Helix Line in me, hated that I was a witness to his crimes."

Damien’s heart ached. He pulled Grace into a fierce embrace.

"It's over, Grace. It's all in the past."

He whispered in her ear, "That old bastard Alistair Hart is dead. He got off too easy! If I had known all this sooner, I would have made him beg for death!"

"It's not over."

Grace pushed him away and closed the diary, her fingertips gently caressing the cover.

"Alistair Hart is dead, but others are still alive."

Damien immediately understood what she meant. "You suspect Dorian knew about it too?"

"How could he not know?" Grace scoffed. "In this family, Cassian was arrogant and Lucian was volatile. Dorian was the only one with a brain. He acted the most harmless, the most gentle. He would even sneak me candy. But he was also the one who stood by and did nothing about Mom's death."

"Tomorrow." Grace closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "I'm going to the office tomorrow."

Damien looked at her pale face, his heart aching with concern. "But your health…"

She was pregnant, and her constitution was already weak. The doctor had given strict orders for her to rest.

"I'm fine." Grace shook her head. "Damien, I'm not tired. The thought of what my mother suffered gives me all the strength I need."

"I'm going to make them pay for what they owe my mother and me, with interest!"

The next morning, Grace arrived at the office.

"Good morning, Ms. Hart!"

"Morning, Ms. Hart!"

Employees passing by offered respectful nods and hushed greetings, their gazes lingering with a mix of curiosity and awe.

Everyone knew that the young woman who had once been kicked out of the Hart family was now the true owner of the building.

Grace walked straight ahead, her gaze fixed, and pushed open the door to Dorian's office.

"Share the burden?"

Grace sneered, stepping into the office. She dropped the copy of the deep blue diary onto his desk with a hollow thud that echoed through the room like a gavel.

"Are you trying to share my burden, or are you helping 'The Shepherd' keep an eye on me?"

At the mention of "The Shepherd," Dorian unconsciously bit his lower lip.

Dorian stared at the copy on the desk, his hand trembling as he reached for it, only to pull back halfway.

"You… you know?"

"How much I know depends on how much you're trying to hide."

Grace pulled out the chair opposite him and sat down, her hands folded gracefully in her lap.

"Did Dad say anything to you before he died?"

Grace stared into Dorian's eyes, not missing a single flicker of emotion. "Did you know about Mom being watched or not?"
