Damien handed his phone to Grace.
"How did they catch him?" Grace asked.
"Lucian Chow confessed."
Damien scoffed. "Add Dr. Serrano's threats into the mix, and the Leung family doesn't dare to intervene anymore."
Without Julian Leung's protection, Serena Shum was fighting a losing battle.
Although they hadn't uncovered Serena Shum's true identity yet, Damien figured she wouldn't hold out much longer and would crack on her own.
Mr. K, Julian Leung, and the enigmatic Dr. Serrano...
It was a bit complicated.
"Can't wrap your head around it?"
Damien gently smoothed out the deep crease between her brows with his thumb. "Don't overthink it, or you'll give yourself wrinkles."
Grace swatted his hand away in annoyance.
"How can you be joking at a time like this?"
She glanced at the wall clock.
Calculating the time difference, it should be morning across the ocean.
"I need to make a call."
Grace picked up Damien's phone and dialed an overseas number.
It rang twice before connecting.
"Hello?"
Lottie Grant's cool voice came through the line.
Compared to Grace's chaotic situation, Lottie's life always seemed to float above the clouds—elegant, unhurried, and possessing an ethereal detachment from the mundane world.
"It's me," Grace said.
"Grace?" Lottie's tone softened. "Calling this early, is something wrong?"
