Sophia touched Abril’s forehead, and Abril felt as if she were being pulled. Suddenly, she found herself in her father’s palace, specifically in the throne room, the last place she had seen him.
Vritra was sitting on his throne with a bored expression on his face while watching a brutal scene. Countless corpses were scattered on the floor, and upon seeing all the blood, Abril froze, unable to move. She closed her eyes tightly, wishing to wake up and for the scene her mother was showing her to disappear. However, it didn’t. When she opened her eyes again, the greeted her.
“I don’t want to be here, mother.”
“I know, but you must stay here a little longer, look closely.”

Abril forced herself to look and saw dark shadows entering the bodies among the corpses. All the wounds closed, and the corpses stood up, the darkness having entered them and using them as
puppets.
“Why are you showing me this, mother?”
“Do you see all these men?”
Abril glanced quickly at them. Although she didn’t recognize any of them, she realized by their
clothes that they were the strategists and generals of the kingdom of Laios.

The Rise of a Great Power
Abril had only read a few books about military hierarchy, but she knew enough to realize one thing: all those men were the leaders of the armies of the kingdom of Laios, and if those people were being controlled by darkness, it meant that the entire kingdom was under the control of evil beings. She was horrified at the thought of what might happen to all the citizens under the monsters‘ control.
Sophia touched her forehead again, and when Abril opened her eyes, she beautiful garden with white flowers. That brutal scene she had seen a m have been a mere illusion.

“Abril, I wanted to show you what Vritra is doing because you must be prepared. The war will start at any moment; you have to unleash your power, my little one.”
“But I don’t know how to do it.”
“I will help you, but it really depends on you. Each of the seals within you is linked to your emotions; you just have to wish with all your heart and with all your being for your magic to be released.”
“What if I can’t do it?”
“I assure you that you will. Close your eyes.”
Abril obeyed her mother and closed her eyes. As she spoke, Abril felt those words reach the depths of her being.
“Think about what you wish to protect, the people you want to help and protect from the darkness; that will help you break the first seal.”
Abril thought of all the people who had been kind and good to her, of Otis and Joe, of Alessandro. Suddenly, a memory came to her mind, the memory of Alessandro being attacked by darkness, and just at that moment when she felt she could lose him, her magic, which had remained dormant, seemed to awaken, and another seal broke. A bright light enveloped Abril’s body for just
a few seconds before she returned to normal.
Ethan, who was standing by the window looking at the main palace, felt a surge of power coming
from the palace. He hurried out of the house, and Dantriel, who had also s sed that wave of power from the palace, asked him.
“What the hell was that?”
“I would recognize that magic anywhere; it’s the magic of light, although I’ve never felt it with such
intensity.”
“Do you think it’s the magic of Princess Sophia?”

“No, her magic is slightly different.
This magic is from someone else; I think it’s from her daughter.”
“The mixed–blood?”
“That’s right.”

“We promised to keep the existence of Princess Sophia’s daughter a secret, but do you think it’s the right thing to do?”
“For now, yes, but when all this is over, we’ll talk about this topic again.”
The next day, when Abril woke up, she felt completely exhausted, as if she hadn’t rested all night. But since she didn’t want Alessandro to worry about her, she forced herself to get out of bed and pretend she was fine.
She felt a bit dizzy, so she went out to the balcony to get some fresh air. But remembering the man she had seen the night before watching her from the shadows, she felt a shiver run through her body. When Alessandro woke up and saw Abril on the balcony, she shivered as he approached. He took a shawl, went out to the balcony, and placed the shawl on her shoulders.
“Mornings tend to be cooler since summer is almost over, so bundle up a bit more before going out on the balcony. I don’t want you to get sick.”
“Yes, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Alessandro hugged her from behind, rested his chin on her shoulder, and said,
“It’s a beautiful day, the sky is clear.”
The birds were flying across the sky. Abril watched them for a moment and wished with all her heart that the peace they were enjoying would last forever.
“Yes, it looks like it’s going to be a nice day.”
“Do you have plans for today?”
“Yes, I want to continue learning more about the affairs of the kingdom.”
“You seem very determined about that.”
“That’s because I am. I told you before, I want to be your pillar of support, not just someone who serves as decoration. That’s why I want to do my best and be useful.”
“How many times do I have to tell you that you already are my support?”
“No matter how many times you say it, I will always want to hear it again.”
Alessandro hugged her a little tighter and said,

Abril turned halfway around and hugged him tightly Feeling a bit anxious about what her mother had shown her in her dreams, she wondered if she should tell Alessandro what she had seen.
He sensed that something was bothering Abril, as if something was worrying her, so he asked, “Is something wrong, Aby? You look worried.”
Abril remained silent for a few minutes, then decided it was best to tell hir her dreams. After she finished telling him everything she had seen in her Alessandro’s expression harden.
