Your True Value
Since she had returned to the human realm, Maya’s feelings for Cassian had grown stronger. Every
time he was near, her heart would race, and she only wished for one thing: to be with him, so much so that she was willing to rebel against the Fairy Queen even if it led to her death.
Fay seemed aware of her feelings, as he never allowed her to be alone with Cassian. He always showed up to interrupt them, claiming they had work to do. That day, she had escaped Fay’s watchful eye, intending to find Cassian, but on her way, she encountered a maid who was
proclaiming the good news to everyone she met.
“The queen has awakened.”
Maya was glad that Abril had finally awakened, but at the same time, she felt a bit sad because it
meant she had to return to the Fairy Land.
As she walked through the palace halls, those thoughts of refusing to obey the Fairy Queen’s order grew stronger; before reaching Abril’s room, she ran into Cassian, finding him when she hadn’t
been looking for him.
When she saw him, those thoughts of disobedience towards the queen almost became a reality, but when he had dragged her into one of the rooms and kissed her passionately, her thoughts
turned into a conviction; she wasn’t planning to return.
As she threw off the thick winter clothes and kissed him actively, she realized something had changed in her. At first, she had taken that time as a farewell since they had been abruptly separated, but the more time she spent with him, the less she wanted to think about being apart, and in reality, she no longer wanted a life without him.
Cassian kissed her passionately, their mouths clashing violently. Their hands began to touch as if they wanted to leave their hands imprinted on each other’s skin. Suddenly, Maya heard Fay’s voice; apparently, he had come looking for her. He knocked on the room door several times and called
out.
“Maya, are you there? Stop playing hide and seek and come out now.”
Cassian pulled his mouth away from hers and said, somewhat annoyed.
“Damn it, how does that guy manage to appear wherever we are?”
“I’m sorry, I’ll go tell him to leave us alone.”
Cassian took Maya’s hand, preventing her from going to the door.
“Don’t do it, if you open that door, that ***t won’t leave us alone.”
“But…”

Cassian grabbed her by the neck and kissed her on the mouth with yearning, intensity, and passion He pulled her firmly towards him. He parted his lips slightly, and his tongue brushed against hers, enticing her to open her mouth. She parted her lips with a moan and shivered when he took her completely, unable to think, only aware of his taste. His tongue teased and savored her sagedy, while he pressed her against his hips. He kissed her harder, demanding the response he was provoking in her. He brushed his lips against her eat and whispered.
“Forget about that i***t and just focus on me. I don’t want you thinking about another man when you’re with me; I get jealous when you do and feel like I could hurt him.”
Maya laughed and said to him.
“You really are very jealous.”
Cassian gave her a soft kiss on the neck and replied.
“Yes, very much, you can’t imagine how much. My blood boils every time I see another man near you; I want you just for myself.”
Maya kissed him and said,
“There’s nothing we can do. I feel the same way, I’m obsessive and want you just for myself. I think our relationship might be a bit tumultuous.”
“Perhaps it will be, but I can’t imagine myself with anyone else but you.”
Cassian looked directly into her eyes and spoke in a soft voice.
“That’s why I’ll do whatever it takes to free you from those damned chains that bind you to the Fairy Queen.”
Maya caressed his face and said,
“I love you, Cassian, I love you so much that my heart aches at the thought of having to leave you. I just want to stay by your side; I don’t even care if I de for disobeying the Fairy Queen’s orders,
because I’d choose one day with you over an eternity without you.”
“Shh… Don’t say that, I won’t let that happen, I won’t
Cassian covered her mouth with his kisses. Outside, they could still hear the murmur of the maids and Fay’s voice, but they both ignored it and made love more passionately than ever before, because that day they gave themselves completely They became one being, their souls intertwined into one.
That day, they lay in bed together all afternoon. But when night came, they both had to say goodbye. When Maya returned to her room, she saw Fay, he was waiting for her.
“You’ve finally shown up. I’ve been looking for you all afternoon. Where were you?”

“That’s none of your business, Fay.”
“You were with your human lover.”
“What I do with my life is none of your concern.”
“Maya, you can’t be with that human because you can’t stay with him.”
“Why not?”
“Because you would die if you did, and the fairy queen would kill me if I didn’t take you back.”
“Why would she do such a thing?”
“You still don’t realize your worth. Do you really think the queen would give something as important as one of the keys to the gate of Hades for a wandering fairy?”
“What do you mean by that?”
“You’re more valuable than you realize, Maya, so leave that human. No matter what you do, you
won’t be able to be with him.”
Fay headed for the door, but Maya blocked his way and said,
“You won’t leave here until you explain what you mean by saying I’m valuable.”
“It’s not my place to tell you.”
Maya drew the daggers from her waist, pointing them at Fay, and said.
“I’ve already told you, I won’t let you leave until I get the answer to my question.”
Fay sighed, very annoyed.
“You’re really annoying.”
“Fay, answer my question, or I’ll make you talk.”
“You’re a descendant of the queen, that’s why she won’t let you go, and why she calls you for tea every day. Every time she sees you, she sees her daughter. You’re her living image.”
“That’s not true; you’re lying.”
“I’m a fairy, Maya; I can’t lie.”
