Part II: What Bodies Scream
29 Pants
Abril spent some time talking with Alessandro about his trip to the kingdom of Laios. Afterwards, Abril
went to see Lissana, and upon entering the room, she felt a strong wind. The servant who was taking care of Lissana was desperately trying to close the balcony. That wind was not natural; it was Lissana who had
created it with her magic. Abril used her cancellation magic to calm the winds. She approached the crib, and the baby smiled when she saw her mother. Abril took Lissana in her arms and kissed her cheeks,
sighing deeply as she said, “What am I going to do with you, my little troublemaker?”
The servant closed the balcony and, upon seeing the queen, attempted to apologize.
“Your Majesty, a strong wind suddenly started blowing. Is the princess alright?”
“Yes, she is fine. Do not worry, you may leave. I will stay with Lissana.”
“As you command, Your Majesty.”
When the servant left, Abril used her magic to suppress Lissana’s powers. She didn’t like doing it because
when she did, Lissana spent most of her time sleeping. She knew she needed to find another solution
since she wouldn’t always be there to stabilize her magic.
Abril remembered the earrings her mother had given her and wished she had them at that moment.
Unfortunately, they had been destroyed when she had released all her power. She would have liked to
know how her mother had created those earrings, but she didn’t know and had no way of finding out.
She caressed one of Lissana’s ears while thinking about the earrings her mother had given her to limit her
power. Suddenly, an earring appeared on Lissana’s ear. She did the same with the other ear, and the same
thing happened–a small earring appeared on her ear. Abril was very surprised; she never imagined it
would be so easy to create the earrings. However, she still didn’t know if they worked or not, but she also
had no way of verifying it. She had to trust that they would work.
That day, Abril stayed the rest of the day taking care of Lissana. When night came, Abril returned to her
room and saw Alessandro. He had just come out of the bathroom, wrapped in a robe, and walked slowly
toward her. Her husband was a very attractive and seductive man, and she couldn’t help her heart racing
every time she saw him.
“You’re back early today,” she said, not taking her eyes off him.
“I escaped from work to be with you,” Alessandro replied. He poured two glasses of wine, handed one to
Abril, and said, “A glass.”
Abril took the glass Alessandro was offering her and took a sip. The wine was sour, it tasted bad; she
wrinkled her face and wanted to spit it out, but she didn’t. She forced herself to swallow it.
“I still don’t understand why you like this. It tastes horrible,” she said.
“You still haven’t gotten used to the taste,” he replied.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this. It tastes horrible,” Abril said.
Alessandro closed the distance between them, leaned in toward her, kissed her softly, and said, “I have
already communicated with Sirius. He will be here tomorrow morning.”
“Then I will leave for Laios tomorrow,” she replied.
“Be careful on your trip,” he warned.
“Don’t worry, I will,” she assured him.
Alessandro leaned in to kiss her neck and whispered in her ear, “We should make the most of our time
together, don’t you think?”
Abril held his face in her hands, sought his mouth, and took his lips. She could taste the sourness of the
wine. Although she had hated its taste before, on Alessandro’s lips she found it sweet and pleasant.
“Yes, let’s do that,” she said.
Alessandro returned the kiss, his hands wrapped around her waist and trailed up her back. She wrapped
her arms around his neck and pressed her body against his. Alessandro lifted her in his arms, carried her
to the bed, and gently laid her down. Abril narrowed her eyes; she could feel her own eyelashes tickling her
cheeks. She felt Alessandro’s weight shift onto her, his damp hair touching her forehead, and a scent of
pine that must have come from the essential oils the maids usually put in the bathtub.
That scent reminded her of the small forest in the farthest part of the palace, which she had wandered
countless times when she lived alone and forgotten. It reminded her of the day she had found Alessandro
unconscious in the forest, and she thanked God for that day, as it had been the start of their love story.
She ran her fingers through Alessandro’s hair, caressing the ends, and heard Alessandro exhale against her
mouth. He pressed his whole body tighter against Abril’s, as if he wanted to become one with her. Abril
slid her fingers to his nape and down to his firm and strong back muscles.
Alessandro’s lips were like the touch of a feather on Abril’s skin, moving along her neck, her chin, until they reached her mouth again. His hands roamed her body in a gentle caress, appreciating every part of her, their breaths and heartbeats becoming one. Abril felt as if everything in the world had disappeared and
only the two of them remained, as if the stars had exploded around them.
The love they felt for each other was like an overflowing river, flooding and filling everything in its path.
Alessandro continued to explore her body with his soft and warm lips.
That night, he made love to her as if in every touch and every kiss, he wanted to tell her how much he loved her and how valuable she was to him.
Words had not been necessary at all, because their bodies screamed over and over again how much they loved each other. They slept embraced for the rest of the night, with their bodies intertwined, sharing their warmth; because even though the sexual act had ended, they wanted to keep making love, they wanted to continue being one.
