When Enzo opened that black door, Abril felt as if a strong negative energy hit her. She took Sirius
and Taren’s hands and covered them with her silver flames to protect them from the darkness.
Enzo stared at them, seeing them engulfed in flames. The two seemed calm. Seeing his interest in
her fire, Abril said,
“My flames repel darkness. I can do the same for you if you wish.”
“I’m not thrilled about going up in flames, so I’ll pass.”
“You’re a fire user. What are you afraid of?”
“That you’ll kill me.”
“I remind you that I can’t kill you, just as you can’t kill me.”
Abril raised her right hand, showing the red mark on it, the mark of the alliance between them.
Enzo looked at his own hand. That seemed to reassure him as he accepted Abril’s offer.
“Fine, I’ll let you wrap me in your flames, but you better not try anything funny.”
“Don’t worry, I’m not like you.”
“You’re a Venobich, little sister. Blood ties can’t be hidden. Even if you seem good, there’s also a certain darkness inside you.”
Abril took her brother’s hand and used her silver flames to envelop him. At first, she thought the same thing that happened to Liona would happen to him, but she was surprised to see that her flames didn’t affect him.
“You seem surprised, sister. Did you think your flames would affect me?”
“Not at all.”
Enzo crossed the door and told them to follow him. They descended the spiral staircase, illuminated by the silver flames. Although the darkness in that place was thick, Abril was surprised to see that everything was quiet.
“I thought this place would be crawling with monsters.”
“The monsters in this place don’t have physical bodies, although something changed a few months ago.”
“What does that mean?”

“The first time I entered this place was with Cira. One of those bodiless monsters took over her. There were hundreds of them crawling in the darkness. You could feel it just by getting close to
the door. But not now. It’s as if they’re gone. I don’t know how, but I think they escaped.”
Abril remembered the creature they had fought in the forest before reaching the royal capital of
Laios and wondered if that creature was one of those monsters that had escaped from that place.
“Do you think Cira released them?”
“I don’t know.”
They continued walking. The further they went, the stronger the darkness became, trying to control their minds. When they reached the crevice, Abril felt her blood run cold. It was the same crevice she had seen in her dreams, the place where Cira had disappeared.
“Enzo, does anyone else have a key to this place?”
“Yes, Cira had a key. Why do you ask?”
“Cira is here.”
Hearing that, Enzo’s body tensed. He drew two daggers and stood guard.
“How do you know?”
“I saw it in a dream. I saw her enter that crevice.”
“Do you think she’s still in there?”
“I don’t know.”
“Close the crevice right now! If Cira comes out of that place, she won’t be so easy to defeat.”
“Why?”
“In one of Dad’s journals, it said that whoever entered Hades and returned to the land of the living would cease to be human. Their power would be unimaginable. They would be one of the princes
of Hades.”
“Did Cira know that?”
“I don’t think so. I found that journal after I returned from the land of the fairies. If Cira had known, she would never have entered that place.”
“That journal won’t say how to close the Hades crevice.”
“No. I thought you would know.” Abril placed her hand on the ground.
Sirius told her, “Be careful.”

Abril began to release her magic like a torrent, with no limitations. A bright light began to banish the darkness from that place. The ground trembled, and the crevice began to close. Just then, monsters began to emerge from the crevice.
Sirius and Taren drew their weapons. They intercepted the monsters that were trying to attack Abril, who was trying to close the crevice. Enzo also defended her.
Abril continued to pour in her magic. The darkness of that place gathered in one place and took on
a human form. It was a creature identical to the one they had faced in the forest.
Sirius stopped Enzo as he was about to attack the monster.
“What do you think you’re doing? Why are you stopping me?”
“That monster is different. It’s stronger, so don’t be reckless if you don’t want to die.”
“So what do you suggest we do?”
“We’ll attack it all at the same time.”
Sirius gave the signal, and the three of them lunged at the creature simultaneously, but they failed to do any damage. They continued attacking, trying to hold it back while Abril finished closing the
crevice.
Enzo said to them, “This isn’t working! That damn monster won’t back down. You’re a mage,” he said to Sirius. “Do something!”
“You could do something too!”
Enzo created a ball of fire and hurled it at the creature. He lunged at it, attacking it with his sword and flames at the same time. Taren joined him. Both of them were slashing at it, but it kept regenerating. Sirius used his magic to hold it back. The creature was very strong. Even though the three of them were giving it their all, they could barely contain it. It was getting closer and closer to
Abril.
Sirius remembered that they had to cut off its head and incinerate its body to defeat the creature they had faced in the forest. He shouted to Taren, “Attack its head! You have to decapitate it!”
Taren did as Sirius told him, but the creature stopped his sword with its hand. Enzo took advantage of the creature being distracted and decapitated it. Even with its head severed, the creature continued to move, so Enzo used his flames to destroy it completely.
Abril continued to close the crevice. The ground trembled. Little by little, the crevice was closing, but it was wearing Abril down. She was releasing so much magic at once that she could barely

stay conscious. But she couldn’t stop. She was so close to closing the Hades crevice. She
searched within herself and drew out all the magic she had.
When the crevice was about to close completely, something shot out of it. It was her sister, Cira.
Their eyes met. Cira looked different. She smiled mockingly and said, “We meet again, sister.”
