Kiara peeked through the window and searched for Barto until she found him. He wore his hair tied in a

The monsters had ravaged everything, even the ground beneath their feet seemed dead. But that mist, Abril could feel a great darkness emanating from it.

“Don’t stray; there’s something wrong with this mist.”

After saying that, several monsters emerged from the mist and began to attack. Alessandro positioned himself in front of Abril, shielding her with his body, and said:

“Don’t leave my side for any reason.”

Abril hadn’t come there to be protected but to fight alongside him. She transformed her bracelets into daggers, and when she had them in her hands, she covered them with her flames and said:

“I will fight too. I didn’t come just to watch; I came to fight by your side.”

After saying that, Abril pounced like a cat towards the nearest monster, stabbing it with her daggers and reducing it to ashes with her silver flames. Alessandro was very surprised as he had never seen Abril wielding a weapon. She was stronger than he had thought.

When a monster lunged at Alessandro, he began to attack with his sword, reducing it to black dust. Barto also joined the fight, impressing everyone. He moved with great speed, and his skill with the sword was admirable. When Abril saw him, she thought Kiara had nothing to worry about; Barto was an excellent

warrior.

After finishing off all the monsters, Abril used her light magic to cleanse all the darkness that had spread through the village. Alessandro asked Sirius and the wizards to check the barrier to see where the monsters had entered. When the wizards finished checking the barrier, Sirius approached Alessandro and

said:

“There is no breach in the barrier. The monsters didn’t come from outside; somehow, they appeared here.”

“But how? After the war, we exterminated all the remaining monsters. There shouldn’t be any left,” said

Abril.

“The barrier is intact, so we need to find out how they got here.”

After all the bodies were buried, the knights began setting up camp, as they would move to the neighboring village the next day, which had also been attacked. Abril stood in front of the graves, blaming herself for not arriving sooner, for not saving them, when Alessandro approached and asked her.

It was white, with beautiful red tapestries covering the floor, and in the middle, several white furs formed a bed. Abril sat on it. It was so soft and fluffy that she couldn’t resist lying down. As she gazed at the ceiling of the tent, Alessandro asked her.

“When did you learn to handle daggers, and where did you get the ones you had today?”

“got those daggers by chance in the land of the fairies. They taught me how to use them there.”

“You must have had a good teacher.”

“Actually, I think they’re easy to use, as if they propel my body to fight. I just had to learn to hold them correctly and control them.”

“It’s incredible. I’ve never heard of a weapon like that.”

Abril looked at the bracelets on her hands and responded, “I think these daggers are rare even in the land

of the fairies.”

“I’m surprised the fairy queen gave you something so valuable.”

“She didn’t give them to me willingly; the daggers chose me. She had no choice but to let me keep them.”
