From His Invisible Wife to the World's Icon novel Chapter 114

She immediately hurried after him.

Outside the hospital, a stunning white Ferrari was parked by the curb.

"What's this?" Lydia asked.

"Ms. Sterling, this is the car my boss promised you," Wesley explained quietly. "This particular Ferrari is a limited global edition. It's the only one of its kind."

Lydia turned to Xavier, her face lighting up with genuine delight. In the dim lighting, his expression was obscured, but his white outfit made his imposing aura feel unexpectedly gentle. He seemed like a completely different person from the ruthless man in the lounge.

Did she actually convince him? Was he keeping her on the team?

"Mr. Ford..." Lydia started, wanting absolute confirmation.

Xavier suddenly spoke up. "Want to take it for a spin?"

"Ms. Sterling, the maintenance team for this car flew in from overseas. If the test drive goes well, they'll be heading back," Wesley added.

Lydia eagerly fished the keys out of her purse, slid into the driver's seat, and fired up the engine.

Just then, Harrison arrived.

"Mr. Ford, I wanted to give you a quick update on tonight's meetings."

"That is a spectacular ride, Lydia," Harrison praised effortlessly.

"Harrison, hop in! Let's test it out," Lydia offered.

"Mr. Ford, why don't we all get in and talk on the way?"

Wesley pulled the back door open for Xavier.

Harrison slid into the passenger seat.

She had driven plenty of sports cars, but a Ferrari—especially a limited edition—was a first.

With a light tap on the gas, the car shot forward like an arrow, peeling away from the hospital entrance.

At that exact moment, a black Rolls-Royce slowly pulled up to the curb.

Caleb looked confused. "Mr. Foster, isn't that the white limited-edition Ferrari? When I tried to source it for Ms. Sutton, I was told it had already been snapped up by a billionaire here in Averton."

"I can't believe Director Zane bought it for his wife!"

In the back seat, Frederick's face was completely impassive, giving nothing away. "Call her."

...

Lydia saw Caleb's name flash on her screen and instantly declined the call.

"Harrison, getting the licensing rights for the Quantum Tunneling Tech is incredible news."

They had divided and conquered tonight, each taking on one of the major research giants.

She was thrilled he had sealed the deal. All that was left was to finalize the contract details tomorrow.

"You'll come with me to sign it tomorrow. I need you there to oversee the technical handover," Harrison said, brimming with pride.

At those words, Lydia checked the rearview mirror, locking eyes with Xavier.

"Mr. Ford? Should I go?"

Harrison looked mildly confused. "You don't need to bother Mr. Ford with minor details like this."

He had no idea she had almost been fired.
